George Greene

Associate Athletic Director of High Performance

Stony Brook University

Indoor Sports Complex

Sony Brook, NY 11794

Coach Greene:

This letter is in response to your advertisement in the employment section of linkedin.com’s website, dated May 18th, 2021. My research indicates that you are seeking an Assistant Director of Athletic Perfromance within your program. My extensive background in sport training and physical development can be of interest to you.

Currently, I act as a free lance sport trainer, focusing on providing sport performance programming, coaching, and physical development instruction for junior high school, high school and college age student-athletes in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, NY. I also have had prior sport training and performance experience working within the sports performance programs at Boise State, Binghamton, and Columbia Universities; as well as Dowling College, a Division II member, where I focused mainly on Olympic sports training, assisted with football training, and provided support for the on campus fitness center within the athletics department. I am NSCA, USAW, ACSM and CPR/AED certified. I believe my experiences, sport successes, nutrition, fitness, as well as physical rehabilitation background, including up-to-date training progressions, would be a tremendous asset to a viable, success-orientated program such as yours at Stony Brook.

My desire to coach physical development stems from my own positive experiences as a graduate assistant as well as my experiences in coaching athletes from high school through the collegiate level. These experiences have afforded me the opportunity to interact with and mentor a variety of student-athletes from diverse backgrounds, challenging them with age appropriate physical skill content, as well as grasping an understanding of their needs and likes relating to physical training and sport skill acquisition. If you are looking for a coach with a wealth of sport training experience instructing in a progressive physical development based training system, and possesses a variety of teaching, sport coaching and program developing experiences, then please review the enclosed resume.

I continue to possess a strong desire to coach the physical development of student-athletes, and have an equal desire to remain coaching and mentoring on the collegiate level. I look forward to my next challenge of joining, and subsequently leading athletic based training in an established Division I sports performance program. If you need any further information to support my candidacy, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to talking with you and the coaching staff about the contribution I can make in joining your athletic performance program in the near future.

Respectfully,

Adam Miller
