Perform journeyman level work on the CH-53E platform, dealing with tasks such as disassembly, assembly, troubleshooting, repair, construction, forging modifications, overhaul, modify and layout sheet metal, composite material, components and panels. Work with epoxy resin in pre-impregnated and wet form, along with fiberglass, Kevlar, carbon fiber, foam core and honeycomb core in-order to create composite components for use on vertical lift aircraft. Have knowledge and skill in making layouts, patterns and templates in-order to conduct sheet metal/composite repairs and fabrication, involving cutting, drilling, riveting, bucking, stretching, shrinking and forming when working with aluminum, stainless-steel, titanium and composite materials. Prepare precisely measured epoxy resin materials for wet layups; prepare ambient temperature molds, along with heat-cured layups. Construct molds using fiberglass, Kevlar, carbon fiber or various combinations of these fabrics, while utilizing wet resin and pre-impregnated systems to develop composite components of assorted shapes and sizes. When rigidity is needed, foams and honeycomb cores will be incorporated into layups for extra strength. Have utilized vacuum bagging processes on composite components when necessary, depending on the application needed the setting may vary per repair. Oven curing and hot blanketing may also be applied, depending on the application and resin system being used.

Assisted and performed mechanical/airframe inspections, removal and replacement of worn or damaged dynamic and static components in accordance with COMNAVAIRINST 4790.2C publications for CH-53E. Assisted in successful and ongoing NAVAIR RESET & ERFED of CH-53E for the United States Marine Corps.
