Project Description:

To improve the performance of Al Bidda Roundabout with construction, completion and maintenance of 2 R.C Flyovers across the roundabout.

Each flyover will carry 2 lanes of traffic and will be over 330 m long and of 12 spans.

Special noise/ visual protection screen will be provided on top of some parts of the flyover parapets. The flyover will have piled foundations and columns will have Y – shaped top for appearance.

Provision & installation of bearing, expansion joint, drainage pipes and gullies are also included in the work.

The flyover approaches will be walled (on the ramp sides) using MSE walls with parapet on top of the wall abutment.

The scope also includes the construction of utility box culvert of 560 m long and 8.0 m depth and 4.25 m wide on N.E part of the project.

Project Description:

Interchange: 02

The motorway divided into two carriageways, Side hard shoulders, and a median.

The trough structure stretches for about 700m.

The foundation is composed of tension piles and a base slab.

Wing walls are required on both sides of the trough. Most of it is straight and the central ones were curved to form the roundabout.

Bridge deck slabs (2 Nos.) at two locations with two sets of piers and transition slabs.

Terraced landscaping is required on both sides of the road in circular trough

The existing U-Turn at the west end of the project will be demolished and closed

The existing junction at the entrance to residential area will be demolished for constructing the new roundabout and trough.

New storm water with 3 pumps will be required behind the wing walls

Other ancillary structures include New Jersey barriers, curbstone and walkway tiles, steel guardrails dwarf walls for chain link fence, gantry foundation, and median, services structures, etc… are not included in the above.

Most of existing services are located on the north side of the road including telephone network, street lighting, irrigation, landscape, and 132 kV overhead cables.

Services will include storm water, modification to existing storm water line, telephone ducts, irrigation ducts, traffic signal ducts, rerouting of 11kv overhead cables, and street lighting. All will be within the services reserve within the right of way.

Erection of Overhead traffic signs on gantry frames, High mast, direction signs, traffic regular road signs, road marking, lane marking, reflective/non-reflective studs, and chevron.

Roadwork will have the highway part, a trough, and a roundabout including two bridges, four approach roads, and two junction roads.

Interchange 08:

Construction of a new semicircular ramp to form a loop on the northeast side of the interchange.

The existing sides of the interchange require mass backfill to form the grade shape with terraced (stepped) landscape profile using concrete retaining walls.

Part of the existing landscape plantation shall be removed.

Required services include storm water networking system including gullies and pipes across the road, irrigation road crossing ducts, and street lighting.

Road construction will include asphalt paving, kerbstone, guard rails on both sides, ancillary works, road signs, and marking

Traffic signs on frames, direction signs, traffic regular road signs, road marking, lane marking, reflective/non-reflective studs, and chevron.

Interchange 10:

The scope will include modification of the existing junction to be a roundabout below the bridge structure, abutments and 4 lines of bridge piers.

New Jersey barriers will be required to protect the existing bridge supports.

Guardrails will be required at designated locations.

This will require modification of the existing roads, removal or diversion of existing services.

New services provided including storm water lines and gullies, water lines ducts and road crossings, ducts and sleeves for underground 132 kV lines, telephone ducts and manholes, irrigation services, street lighting, traffic signal ducts, as required by the concerned authorities.

Project Description:

In power plants, Petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, natural gas processing plants as cooling system of circulating water are essential to absorb the heat deriving from the production process.

Cooling towers dissipate the heat into the atmosphere where wind and air diffusion spread it over the unacceptable impact on the local eco systems, which would result, were the heated water will have returned to its source. Moreover, with the cooling towers, a much lower amount of cooling water needed, thereby reducing the overall cost of the industrial production.
