Never judge someone by their past but let the future define them
Moving to a new state is tough, it means new friends, new life. I have done it twice in my life and it takes a lot to warm up to a person. When I moved the first time everyone had friend groups and I was all alone and for five and a half years I was always the go to friend or the second choice. That's when my dad told me this quote and it stuck to me for many years. It helped me choose friends that I wanted and it let me become more open to others as well. We all know that girls are the worst drama queens and filled with gossip so when girls would tell me about other girls problems I would never listen because of what my dad told me. Until they did something that affected me I always gave them a chance to prove to me that the rumors were false. This quote can help many people if they really try to understand the ideology of it and not just let it pass them. Understand the quote by listening to it not by hearing it and it makes all the difference. When I moved the second time I not only knew how to find friends but I listened to what I saw and I understood the importance of counting on someone. I truly believe that this quote could impact someone the same way it did for me but they have to be willing to listen to it just as I had been willing. Many people don't need this in their life because they feel like they have it all figured out but lots of people just need a little advice or a little push and they will understand to not be so quick to judge. And that makes all the difference.
