PERSONAL SUMMARY A chemical engineer with 7+ years’ of experience working in an oil refinery as Senior Process Engineer in numerous process units such as Separation, Hydrotreating, Catalytic Reforming, Isomerization Processes. Familiar with Process engineering supports that include design and engineering skills, heat and material balance, catalytic process and chemical reactions, heat transfer, mass transfer, Fluid Flow equipment performance evaluation, laboratory work. Process Engineering supports further enhanced to perform troubleshooting and problem-solving skills utilized to resolve process problems, catalyst performance, on-stream analytical ability to provide suggestions to allow smooth and efficient operation of various process units and utility. Familiar of piping sizing and pressure drop calculation using Hydraulic calculation method and industry standard for liquid, gas, and mixed phase fluid is another area of process engineering expertise.

Company: Bezhan Petroleum Company, Bazian Refinery, Kurdistan.

Position: Senior Process Engineer in Refinery Process Engineering Department

Responsibilities: Daily Plant Monitoring to review plant operating data and laboratory analysis of intermediates and finished products, Troubleshooting, Investigation and Analysis of Process Problems and provide recommendations to resolve plant problems. Responsible for developing catalyst and chemical budgeting for the refinery, capital project coordination, Investigation and Root Causes Analysis of plant problems, shutdown, turnaround, planning coordinating and catalyst regeneration support.

From Jan. 2014 to Dec. 2020:

Company: Bezhan Petroleum Company, Bazian Refinery, Kurdistan.

Position: Process Engineer in Refinery Process Engineering Department.

Responsibilities: Daily Plant Monitoring, Troubleshooting, Performance evaluation of catalyst and chemicals. Equipment performance monitoring, Study and Develop Process Scheme for plant modification jobs, Investigation and Root Causes Analysis of plant problems, Chemical Budget preparation, monitoring of Catalyst and Chemical Inventory. Review and Update shutdown, startup, emergency procedure for various process units and utility. Single point contact to coordinate all activities and communication with the catalyst suppliers company like Axens, Clariant and chemical vendors such as Nalco and local market.

Major Achievements:

• Perform Hydraulic study of crude oil flow from storage tank to distillation tower and downstream section of that tower.

• Successfully Completed Fifth Cycle Reformer Catalyst Regeneration.

• Prepared Purchasing Document for New Isomerization Catalyst.

• Developed Technical Comparison for New Isomerization Catalyst Proposal from different vendors.

• Developed Catalyst and Chemical Budget for 2019, 2020 and 2021.

• Worked with Chemical Vendor to Improve Corrosion Control and Chemical Injection System in various process units and utility.

• Developed New Strategy to Procure Clay Materials for Kerosene Treater.

• Participated in the Turnaround Activities in Crude Distillation Units #1, #2 and Gasoline plant.

• Investigation of Reformer Heater Unstable Operation.

• Performance Evaluation of Crude Distillation Tower #1 and #2 after installing new tray internals during turnaround.

• Working with the Engineering Company to review project documents for debottlenecking Bazian Refinery to increase capacity to 40000 BPD.

• Evaluation of Processing Different Crude in Pre-Flash and Crude Distillation Units in conjunction with Karkuk Crude.

• Optimized Jet Fuel Production capability in Kerosene Treating unit using Mercaptan Sulfur Removal capability in the plant.

Position: Chemical Engineer worked in Refinery Laboratory.

Responsibilities: Performed Laboratory Analysis for Hydrocarbon and Water.

Major Achievements: Evaluation of Various Types of Crude Oil as pure and blend with full tests such as distillation, density, sulfur, viscosity, BS&W etc.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

• I am nominated to work as volunteer at I Can Organization. The activity is continuing since July 2011 until now to provide financial, health care etc. assistance to needed people.

• I was nominated as volunteer to participate at YPEER (Youth Peer Education) our mission is to strengthen and spread high quality peer- to - peer education in the field of adolescent sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and HIV prevention worldwide. Peer- to -peer education using alternative methods of education (such as theatre-based techniques, role games, simulations, etc.).This activity is continuing since November 2016 until now.
