Responsible for managing and overseeing all security upgrades to meet Exelon Utility standards, including thermal cameras, high tech fencing and high tech lighting for 100 stations in five (5) years including hitting the forecasted budgets and KPIs monthly for the next five (5) years..
Create RFPs, analyze proposals, negotiate and award contracts
Manage all aspects of existing transmission program projects and intel substations from development through construction and restoration, ranging from a one (1) week to five (5) year construction schedule.
Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by reinforcing safety expectations, reviewing the Safe Work Plan for each project several times throughout a project, auditing the sites during construction, conducting Job Briefs at each walk down, following the “See Something, Say Something” philosophy and beginning each meeting and conference call with a Safety topic
Responsible for working with engineers to determine the scopes of projects, estimators to provide a solid budget, a cost engineer to ensure staying within budget and creating project forecasts, and a scheduler to determine and maintain the overall project schedule
Ensure projects are constructed within approved budget and schedule, and monitor the projects closely to implement a contingency plan if needed
Coordinate pre/post design walk downs with engineers, and RFP and Pre-Construction walk downs with contractors, engineers, schedulers, estimators, and other experts to ensure project success
Build strong working relationships and open the lines of communication between the project team, work management, engineers, real estate, environmental, survey team, and construction contractors, by moderating weekly meetings when needed and coordinating activities needed to encourage a successful project. Separate communications and meetings are coordinated with the Counties, Townships and/or Landowners
Create and present Phase approval decks for the different stages of a project, prior to beginning the specific phase, i.e. engineering or construction phase
Provide weekly updates to program managers and monthly budget updates to Leadership with an emphasis on risks and opportunities of each project
Approve all invoices and Change Orders for each project, as well as facilitate Contract Requests
Responsible for analyzing in-service projects, actual costs vs. estimates to enhance the estimating process.
E.ON Climate and Renewables, Chicago, IL – Project Manager December 2011 – April 2015
Oversaw all aspects of wind farm project construction for multiple projects in the range of $300M - $500M (coordinating with Development, overseeing electrical and civil engineering, construction, as well as ensuring the Balance of Plant and Turbine Supply Agreements are followed, and finally a smooth transition to O & M.) Projects ranged from 100MW-200MW
Managed a team of over 200 people, including Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers and Contractors to ensure that all wind farm projects were completed on time (met Commercial Operation Date) and within budget
Established estimates for BoP, interconnection, logistics cost and provided input for financial modeling. All estimates came within -2% and 8% of original estimates
Created over 50 RFPs, reviewed responses, negotiated and awarded the contract, which ranged from $5,000 - $210M. Negotiated a minimal of 5% reduction to each contract
Developed and maintained relationships with contractors, engineering firms and nationwide utility providers, and created a program to qualify contractors, which is still implemented at this company
Managed project budgets, schedules and tracked operation of projects for areas of improvement for over 30 projects
Responsible for approving and tracking all invoices and Change Orders billed to the project
Moderated weekly conference calls with the General Contractors, Turbine Suppliers, sub-contractors and site staff to maintain the construction schedule, project risks and any remediation needed

Acciona Energy North America, Chicago, IL – Project Manager June 2008 – August 2010
Oversaw all aspects of wind farm project construction for multiple projects including a 100MW wind farm in Western Illinois and ensured that all projects are completed on time and within the budget. All projects came in between 2%-5% within budget. Contingency was at 8%

Coordinated dedication ceremony for 500,000 visitors and provided a bus tour script with fun facts about the project that was presented during the community tours to the turbine sites.
Worked with Finance to assemble all documentation needed to create packages for potential investors
Created a qualifying contractor criteria and program which has been implemented for wind and solar contractors, and qualified 10 new contractors.
Created a turnover process from Construction to Operation & Maintenance, including timing of the turnover, required documents, checklists, procedures and certificates required as part of the process
Created a 6, 12 and 18 month evaluation program from Construction to Operation & Maintenance to determine areas that may need a more detailed scope of work during engineering and construction. Any areas that needed remediation were determined and mitigation steps were determined and completed
