Responsible for partnerships, advocacy/government engagements and communications. Working within PROSPER/BRACC (Building Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change – DFID funded) Program Management Unit (PMU) and the wider Concern team reporting to the Consortium Director. Leading the implementation of Concerns Partnership strategy regarding local NGO’s, Civil Society actors and Consortium members and working on implementing the Localization Agenda (initiated by EU – 2016) that fosters on achieving humanitarian work through local partners. Also, support on other projects (Right to learn; Education for a girl child – Comic Relief, Graduation; Livelihoods/HIV & Social Cash Transfers – Irish Aid) and any new projects that may come.

Lead/follow up on DFID, Irish Aid and other donor due diligence processes to ensure that both international and local partners comply with donor requirements. Leads the Partner selection and recruitment process by conducting Financial, Programs and Governance Assessments. Sustainable Business Coordinator, Tunza Social Enterprise Malawi (PSI Malawi) (Dec 2016 – Dec 2018)

Reporting to the Senior Technical Advisor. Established Tunza Social Enterprise and a business model that transitions the program from donor dependency to financial sustainability to address health equity, quality and impact to low resource environments through the private sector leading a team of 3 Business Officers and indirectly 5 Quality and Demand Creation officers. Also employed a computer based Clinic Management System (CMS) for franchisees to manage both financial and medical records. Implemented a Credit System for Tunza clinics as well as testing and piloting different demand creation and supply chain models (buying network) to ensure increased client flow and access to affordable and quality drugs for clinics. I led the Tunza team in moving out of PSI Malawi main office to an independent office and prepared annual work plans, budgets and periodic donor reports for KfW and SIFPO whilst at the same time prepared Tunza strategic and marketing plans, developed franchise manuals in collaboration with the Regional team in Kenya.

Provided technical support to HIV prevention and Family Planning programs, acted as Technical Advisor, Contracts management and behavior change, Business Development and branding in over 60 franchisees. Coordinated various training programs with Ministry of Health officials in exploring additional Primary Health Care services i.e. cervical cancer screening, as well as program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) through developing of data dashboards for decision making and reporting. Also managed the Voucher system (a health financing subsidy program) for Family Planning services.

Financing and Voucher Coordinator, PSI Malawi (Jan 2014 – Dec 2016)

Acted/supported the Social Franchise Manager, led a team of 18 and annual budget of over $ 120,000 whilst leading the development of a financial sustainability program for Tunza Social Franchise and organized/facilitated business and financial management trainings for 130+ franchisees (private clinics) in Malawi and ensured implementation of new business techniques. Oversaw implementation of HIV and Family Planning programs - administered all financing activities and ensured efficient service delivery platform for the program through behavior change initiatives, franchisee relationship, contract management and development of annual work plans and budgets.

Developed and established a voucher system that provided with over 2,000 low income people with access to quality subsidized health services – including HIV and Family Planning in private clinics under KfW funding and coordinated demand creation activities, Quality Assurance audits and assessments to maintain high quality standards in Franchisees utilizing strong M&E systems. Also managed DFID supply chain distribution for medical equipment/consumables and prepared reports on HIV and Voluntary Circumcision service delivery in 70 health facilities. Was an active member of PSI Malawi Internal Procurement Committee where I also acted as Chairman of the committee and also led a marketing team of 30 people during Human Centered Design for HIV self-test program in developing of prototypes and models for a USAID program under HIV and Chishango Condoms.
