Dear Mentor,

Currently working as Assistant Professor (Dept. of Life Sciences, PDM University, Haryana) since Sep 2019. Besides having taught at several institutes, I also have a postdoctoral research experience of one year at Sven Loven Marine Centre, Univ. of Gothenburg. Completed my Ph.D. in Biosciences at Barkatullah University, Bhopal (India) in Sept 2010. My research area involves an intensive study about the signal transduction mechanisms operating in melanophores which are developed from the neural crest cells and possess pigmented granules called melanosomes. We have further explored about the affinity of artificial tastants like saccharin, D-Tryptophan and cyclo (Leu-Trp) towards G protein-coupled receptors (all the three subtypes) of the hormone melatonin which maintains the biological clock/rhythm of the vertebrates and acts as a free radical scavenger.

Our further research plans include investigating the molecular mechanisms involved in functioning of the motor proteins, kinesin and dynein, during translocation of the melanosomes in cutaneous as well as peritoneal melanophores of the lower vertebrates. Moreover, these melanophores can also be employed as bioindicators for the determination of even minute quantities of toxic/harmful compounds, pollutants, etc in the environment. Besides these I'm keenly interested to teach Biochemistry/Physiology, actively conduct the examination processes in University, further write the new exhaustive books in Life Sciences/Biotechnology and also possess a quick capability to learn the new teaching/research protocols. My published research papers and books comprise to be a total of 16 in numbers at present, while the rest are in communication with leading international journals of Life Sciences.

I have a detail plan for the introduction of Pigment Cell Biology semester course at college and University levels. I am applying with full confidence of the known biochemical techniques, teaching-administrative methodologies, as well as manuscript generation for books towards your published academic position. In the interim, I would like to thank you for your kind consideration and response. Yours sincere, Muhammad Mubashshir

(M.Phil, Ph.D)
