Dynamic, personable and technically savvy management professional, with the unique combination of management experience and technical skills bringing to the table the ability to combine business development with technical applications. Extensive management experience that lends itself to always being dynamic in the approach to troubleshooting and “on the fly” problem solving. Very skilled in working in a highly regulated and high stress environment while working daily within the guidelines of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Food and Drug Administration as well as the American Medical Association. Because of this, being versed in compliance standards as well as in maintaining Environmental Health and Safety standards well above what is expected to ensure the safety of both the team as well as the patients treated on my machines are always two of the main concerns daily.

Core Competencies:

-Operations Management - Field Service - Logistics - Medical Imaging - Process Improvement

-Budgeting - Fiscal Management - Strategic Planning - Facilities Management - Military Experience

-Team Management - Change Management - Human Resources - Program Management

-Supply Chain - General Management - Vendor Management - Compliance Management

Senior Operations Manager - Ion Beam Applications - June 2014 to September 2020

Led a team of scientists and engineers in the day to day operations, as well as the corrective and preventative maintenance of a 250M$ proton accelerator system used for the treatment of cancer patients. Though IBA is a global company all sites are ran as their own small businesses. Was responsible for generating and submitting quarterly invoicing on a 3.5M$ annual contract. Hampton University was my customer and responsible for meeting their guaranteed 97% uptime. This goal was never missed in over 6 years. Maintained a logistics parts stock of over one million dollars on site and coordinated the receipt of parts from across the world when needed. Hand chosen for the most difficult tasks, from temporally leading the Miami site during a management transition to being part of a 6-person team rolling out a best practices manual to be used across the globe for newly minted Site Managers so that they would have a smooth transition into that role. Director of EHS program. Versed in HIPPA.

Field Service Engineer – Elekta Medical Systems – May 2007 to June 2014

Primary engineer responsible for the maintenance operation and repair of standard linear accelerators (x-ray) used in the treatment of cancer patients over a four-state area (MS, LA, South East AR and South east TX). All accelerators under my responsibility were well above guaranteed up-time minimums. Successfully trained several junior engineers on the proper care and maintenance of these machines.

Fire controlman Chief Petty Officer – United States Navy – March 1987 to May 2007

18+ years’ experience as maintenance manager leading the most technically advanced Navy engineers (~300 indirect reports, 40 direct) in all maintenance, trouble shooting and installation efforts to maintain operational readiness onboard 3 Navy ships during 4 wars. To achieve this end, anticipatory material needs were factored as well as budgetary constraints and “down-system” coverage. As one of the Material Maintenance Manager (3MC’s) Onboard the USS John F. Kennedy, responsible for the maintenance management of a 37-year-old Aircraft Carrier, requiring fiscal management of a $1.25 million quarterly repair/maintenance budget as well.
