Literacy Sales Solution Specialist, PEARSON

Responsible for national sales literacy presentations for all Pearson Literacy K-12 programs. The literacy specialist was the consultant and resident expert brought in to work alongside the Account General Manager for middle, large and urban districts. The position reported direct to the Vice President of Literacy for North America. Special assignments were to coordinate CCSS with literacy programs for states, specialized presentation delivery on new completely digital resources and developing new literacy programs to roll out in the coming years.
East Tennessee Account Executive, PEARSON
May 2012-August 2013
Responsible for the sales of Pearson elementary core instructional materials with the eastern half of Tennessee school districts. The position served as the liaison for all state adoptions of textbooks for schools and school district purchases for core materials. Sales presentations, adoption campaign events and ensuring that schools had requested adoption materials for review and purchase material delivery were key features of the position responsibilities.

Positions held during the time I was a Bradley County Schools included classroom teacher for Kindergarten, first grade, second grade fifth grade, Reading Recovery teacher and District Wide Reading Coach. During this time, I was responsible for preparing and delivering teacher training, curriculum evaluation teams and district initiative implementations for core and interventions.

Reading Recovery Certification
Bradley County hosted Reading Recovery training certified through GA State for a cohort of teachers to be trained in Reading Recovery. Formal classwork was held for the year while normal teaching responsibilities in the local school and teaching Reading Recovery. Certification was maintained throughout the time I was teaching Reaching Recovery in Bradley County through 2006.
*Daily presentations for sales and content training for schools and district personnel. Various styles of presentations needed for success with the customer so presentation software, Zoom, Webex are in full skill set.
*Customer relations are high priority for success in corporate roles. Consistent communications with 101 school districts to maintain good customer relations and satifications with the programs they are looking to purchase or are using in their schools/districts.
*Explicit detail and organization with use of Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamic CRM for corporate management.
*Attained Model Classroom Certification from the Reading Renaissance Institute for five consecutive years from 1999-2004. Later in my career as an educator, I continued to use the Renaissance Data for support in my thesis for graduate work at Tennessee Tech. It was also used for data analysis to prove educator effectiveness and positions in submissions for the TN Teacher of the Year in 2007.
