Foreword:
I had been a paramedic for 10 years, also with 5 years experience working in a Trauma Unit in-hospital. My Qualifications in emergency medical care and technical rescue are extensive and in-depth.
As a Medical Rep I now have 6 years working experience, currently working for Aurogen/Aurobindo Pharma selling high tier antibiotics for use in ICU in the Critical Care Business Unit. My previous employer was Obsidian Health for whom I sold diagnostic equipment.
I don’t mind traveling for work. I am a hard worker and make it my objective to be the workhorse in a well-functioning team. And if the need arises I can work alone with no problems.
I am also fortunate enough to say that my working requirements over the years had lead me to work in every state hospital in the Western Cape and every Private Hospital in the country.

-Intermediate life support Paramedic-
Primary function as equivalent to Registered Nurse in a Trauma Unit at first, until the environment allowed me to perform at my full scope off practice. I became the lead at all resus scenarios in and around the hospital. As a norm the Trauma Dr will always accompany the resus team in the hospital to prescribe the resus drugs intubate and treat more complex cardiac arrhythmias. My qualifications covered all that and after a few months at the hospital the Trauma Drs were confident enough to stay in the trauma unit and let me run most resus scenarios in the hospital. Me intubating a patient on the bed in the C-arm in Cath-lab was a common. Resus in Theatre was even more common. My role freed up the Drs hands by up to 15%per shift.
Other responsibilities grew from there:
-Care of the most critically ill and unstable patients in Trauma Unit of Medical and Trauma origins
-Ventilations, ventilator setup, intubation.
-Complex infusion management and large vein access techniques .
- Advanced Cardiac life support procedures
-Health and safety representative
-Fire Marshal
-Evacuation Coordinator
- When I resigned from N1 City I was open with my Unit Manager and Matron, they had confessed that they prepared a special position in the Cath-lab for me but could not match the offer of Carecross/ONECARE Health and decided not to offer it to me. Till today I have a great relationship with both Sr.I vanZyl and Mrs L.Blom the Unit manager and Matron.
