Amy R. Lunsford
Dear Prospective Employer,
Please consider me for the position you have open for Mortgage Underwriter. My 6+ years of experience may be “old”, but the basics of underwriting have NOT altered: assess the borrower, assess the property and assess the transaction to meet required standards – and I am ready to dive back in!
I have spent the last 12.5 years in the fast-moving Casino industry interacting with casino players on a daily basis. Attention to detail, accuracy, risk assessment, cash flow analysis, clear and open communication, computer systems and timely responses are all vital traits for a Casino Host just as they are for a Mortgage Underwriter. Both underwriters and casino hosts must:
Accurately and swiftly make financial decisions which affect the company’s bottom line. For a casino host, this involves ascertaining the income/assets status of a casino player and reviewing computerized recorded gaming activity to quickly determine what kind of Company complimentary rewards can be spent to keep the player on property or coming back.
Clearly communicate with other members of the team via phone, email and in person. A casino host must convey travel arrangements to the hotel team, relay high-end betting exceptions for a player to the casino team and communicate directly with the casino player about income, assets, marker (credit) extension, marker repayment and more.
Have a strong commitment to ethics. Casino hosts are sometimes pressured to overlook items such as Title 31 Regulations (about SSNs and incoming cash over $10K) to keep a casino player playing. They also can face pressure to extend more Company complimentary rewards to a player than he has earned by his gaming activity – whether for personal cash tips or to make the host’s own quota. Either way this is a misuse of Company funds, which is highly inappropriate.
With more than 25 years of professional work experience focused in banking, customer service and communications, I’m certain I can make a significant impact with your company. Please give me a call to schedule time to talk about how I can work with you. My number is 702-***-**** or you can reach me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
