Position: Front Desk Receptionist and Typist:
Serves clients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records
Welcomes clients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
Optimizes clients satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling
appointments in person or by telephone.
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of clients arrival, reviewing service
delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
Comforts patients by anticipating clients anxieties, answering clients questions, and maintaining
the reception area.
Ensures availability of treatment information by maintaining and retrieving clients records.
Maintains patient data by obtaining, recording, and updating personal information.
Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory
level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of
supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
Protects clients rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial
information.

Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible
Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail (envelopes, packages, etc.)
Answer the phone to take messages or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues
Utilize office appliances such as photocopier, printers etc. and computers for word processing, spreadsheet creation etc.
Undertake basic bookkeeping tasks and issue invoices, checks etc.
