NICOLE C. PILLAY (Born
Govender)
ATTORNEY
PROFILE
My legal career began with my studies at
Wits where I was inspired and driven to
always seek greatness whilst working
efficiently to do so.
I then started and completed 2 years of
articles at a small law firm in
Johannesburg, Matthew Kerr-Phillips
Attorney. By working in a small law firm, I
was pushed to take on more than what
may normally be expected of someone in
such a position which in turn led me to
grow my capabilities. Further, as the firm
does not specialize in specific areas of
the law, I was exposed to a wide variety
of areas of the law such as inter alia civil
and commercial litigation, statutory
compliance, family law, contract law,
consumer law, credit law, landlord tenant
law and insolvency law.
I have proven myself to be precise,
efficient, attentive to detail, reliable,
competent and trustworthy. I am driven
and motivated to expand my capabilities
further. I am a fast learner, able to pick
up legal concepts quickly, manage my
time well and able to multi-task. I am
proficient in setting up and utilizing case
management spreadsheets and office
organization systems. I wrote and passed
all of my board exams during the
February 2017 sitting.
After completing my board exams and 2
years of articles, I was admitted as an
attorney of the High Court of South Africa
on the 12th of March 2018. I have
completed 2 years of post admission
experience.
I have recently relocated to Durban since
getting married in early 2020.
