The Office of the Secretary (OS) plays a central role in ensuring the processing of Commission business. Office staff, among other things, review the legal and factual sufficiency of all SEC documents submitted to and approved by the Commission: schedule Commission meetings and ensure they are conducted in accordance with the Government in the Sunshine Act; maintain records of official Commission actions; and provide public notice of those actions on the SEC.gov website & the Federal Register .Responsibilities If selected, you will report directly to the Branch Chief who oversees the office's Commission Actions Monitoring team and the Rulemaking, Regulatory and Federal Register team. These responsibilities may include assisting with the various channels by which the Commission approves actions and maintains records of Commission actions; supporting the Commission's rulemaking agenda and regulatory functions; or reviewing a wide range of Commission documents, such as notices, orders, rulemakings, and other releases prior to their print and online publication.

Typical Duties will Include Performs a variety of administrative and legal assignments designed to provide training, experience and technical competence in the methods, procedures, principles, theories, and techniques for the collection and analysis of program specific reports. Handles routine matters and refers inquiries to appropriate personnel based on knowledge of programs and functions, assignments, internal procedures, and relationships. Performs administrative duties, including data input, document review, records management, and/or document production. Processes and handles correspondence, including preparing and sealing correspondence, and tracking correspondence in agency database.
