• EDUCATION: As a recent Master’s Degree graduate from University of Basel, Center for African Studies, in Switzerland, majoring in Public Health and Social Life, my academic research work was focused on assessment of psychosocial problems and risky sexual behaviors of Ethiopian youth migrants in Switzerland. In my research, I was able to demonstrate and identify the specific social and psychological challenges and risky sexual behaviors of the migrant youth while living as an asylum seeker or as a refuge in Switzerland. I also earned a Masters and Bachler of Arts Degrees in Psychology from Addis Ababa University (AAU), one of the longest and prestigious Universities in Africa. In my thesis, I was able to argue and demonstrated the case for Joy Center while caring for child with autism.
• PROGRAM COORDINATION: As a program coordinator and lecturer at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University, I developed and organized programs and projects related with HIV/AIDS prevention, gender mainstreaming, sexual & reproductive health training encouraging female students’ participation and empowerment in higher education institutions. I communicated the programs through data modeling and reinforcement on HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health issues and gender mainstreaming leading to encouraging female students’ participation and empowerment in higher education institutions.
• SOCIAL WORK: I have extensive social work experience and consider myself a social work expert. My experiences and achievements include counselling sessions for minors and families, family tracing, reintegration and support of minors who were separated from their families, and regular follow up visits and periodically assess the status of minors reunified to their families and communities.
• GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING: Gave effective guidance and counselling services for students when I was Guidance and Counselling Officer at Damot General Secondary School. Successfully designed intervention program in the counselling center benefiting students requiring special assistance.
