Environmental Health Specialist, Sauk County Health Dept, October 2003 to October 2008. Performed state regulated inspections at local resorts, campgrounds, motels and hotels for compliance with state sanitation codes. Collected groundwater samples for testing of bacteria, nitrates and organics plus conducted inspections of well construction and system layout for local Transient, Non-Community Public Water Supply Systems. Investigated a great variety of citizen-generated nuisance complaints of health hazards in private homes, public places and businesses. These included indoor air quality assessments for the presence of mold, determining its presence, collecting air and surface samples for lab analysis, providing consultation for its causes and recommending steps for remediation. IAQ monitoring equipment was also used for investigating complaints of a variety of indoor air contaminants including odors, combustion gases, particulate matter associated with outdoor wood boilers and other nuisance substances from outdoor environmental sources entering homes and buildings generating complaints of adverse health affects to occupants. Conducted lead paint inspections using Niton XRF analyzer, check swabs and dust wipes for lab analysis and consulted with homeowners and tenants to reduce risk of lead paint poisoning to children. Provided consultation to homeowners regarding measurement of radon and mitigation of high levels. Provided consultation and education on a multitude of concerns regarding many aspects of Environmental Health.

Nutritional Food Safety Chemist, Covance, Inc., Madison, WI, April 2016 to present. Responsible for instrumental analysis of acid digested food samples for the common nine nutritional metals by ICP using a Thermo Fisher ICAP 6500 using ITEVA software plus a Perkin Elmer Avio 200 and exporting the results into our laboratory data management NIMS system while paying careful attention to all QC protocols for meeting both employer and client requirements and reporting due dates.

ICP Metals Analyst, Pace Analytical, Billings, MT May 2014 to March 2016. Analysis of soil and water samples for SAR cations, RCRA trace metals and total metals using EPA methods 6010B, EPA 200.7 for analysis with an ICAP 6500 ICP-AES. Digestion methods 3010A, 3050B and Soil Agronomy. Consistently meeting demanding report deadlines on time in a high volume, high productivity lab using approved SOP’s. Data reporting using LimsLink and Epic Pro software. Following a very stringent policy of documenting all standard QC preparation including calibration standards, IDL’s MDL’s, IEC’s and LDR’s. ICP Metals Chemist at Wyoming Analytical Laboratories, Laramie,

Wyoming; April, 2010 to March, 2014. Trace Metals analysis of wide spectrum

inorganic analytes particular to coal, water, wastewater and soil samples

submitted for compliance with industrial regulation limits by EPA Methods

SW846-6020 for trace metals by ICP-MS and SW846-6010 for potability

nutrients by ICP-OES. Both analytical systems supplied by Thermo Scientific

Corporation. Prepare standards and all required QC samples for calibration

curve according to EPA quality control methods 602OA FOR ICP-MS and

601OC FOR ICP-OES. Prepare method detection limits and table of LCS results

along with control limits for each parameter. Maintain accurate records of all

results for review by QA/QC officer in compliance with EPA and state of

Wyoming regulations. Maintain routine maintenance and troubleshooting of
