Program Management Highlights:
Program Manager, F-15 Advanced Display Core Processor II Development
Responsible for the development of the latest, most advanced on-board computer and associated mission software for the F-15 jet fighter for the United States Air Force and other international customers. Implemented Agile software development methodology. Total project budget of about $200M.
Program Manager, Vehicle Health Management Systems
Responsible for the development of new health management software for Boeing Commercial airplanes that implements computer learning-like functionality to diagnose aircraft anomalies in order to predict and focus aircraft maintenance to minimize aircraft down time and canceled flights. Set up software development teams of 70 engineers in Bangalore, India and 20 engineers in Gdansk, Poland. Total project budget of about $130M.
Technical Leadership Highlights:
Chief Software Engineer, Manned Ground Vehicles, Future Combat Systems
Responsible for the development of three million lines of real-time vehicle operational software and the integration of 13 million lines of network command and control software into the eight new vehicles under development. Managed three suppliers across the US. Total project budget of about $350M. Early adopter of Program Management Best Practices.
Chief Software Engineer, Training Systems Software
Responsible for the development of real-time, mission critical software that drives the flight training systems for over a dozen US Department of Defense programs and several foreign customers. Total organization size was about 200 software engineers in five US locations. Successfully implemented Scaled Agile Framework-Enterprise (SAFe) development methodology that included software and hardware teams.
Software Engineering Leadership Highlights:
Department manager for Avionics Software Engineering, responsible for talent acquisition, training and career advancement for over 800 software engineers. Lead the effort to certify the organization to the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Levels 3, 4 and 5.
Past member of the Computer Science Advisory Boards at Purdue University and Missouri University of Science & Technology. Past member of the corporate Boeing University Relations Council.
Lead the effort to incorporate Software Engineering into the Boeing Technical Fellowship
Software Development:
Many early career software development assignments developing real-time software using assembly language, FORTRAN, Ada and C, with UNIX system admin duties as well.
