WORK EXPERIENCE

December 2018 to present BW Energy Services

Contract and Commercial Lead

As the Contract and Commercial Lead, I am responsible for the sourcing, writing, negotiating and executing contracts and agreements in alignment with the company’s sourcing and contracting strategy and processes.

My primary role is to bring a strong business and operations acumen in order to execute the works in a timely manner and strike a balance between business competitiveness, legal compliance, and risk management requirements.

Addressing inquiries and resolving issues and serves as the contract subject matter expert are a few of my day to day responsibilities. This includes developing and implementing contracting plans and processes to proactively strengthen and support the development of contract knowledge and awareness on the terms and conditions within the business. May 2017 to present Consultant

As a freelance safety and security consultant, I do Facility Safety and Security Risk Assessment work for clients in order to identify hazards, evaluate risks and recommend control measures to ensure a safe working environment. To minimize, if not eliminate threats to safety and security of personnel and those that may disrupt business continuity.

I have gained the experience and expertise in a different field. I plan, organize and implement outdoor recreational programs and activities such as backpacking, trekking, camping, diving and other similar outdoor adventure activities as well.

I have competency on conducting site surveys and ocular inspections, evaluation and recommendations for the development of resorts, campsites and other outdoor recreational facilities to include threat and vulnerability assessments of facilities and the like. In addition, I conduct seminars and workshops for team building modules and organizational development; design and implement environment-friendly programs for outdoor adventure and recreation for specific groups; organize outdoor adventure travel and tours for local and foreign tourists.

Together with other consultants and outdoor specialists, we train and instruct individuals / groups on different outdoor skills like rope management, wilderness survival, rappelling, wilderness search and rescue, water safety and drown-proofing, fire safety and structural fire search and rescue. October 2008 to May 2017 Chevron Philippines, Inc. Category Specialist

As a Category Specialist, my core competency is on contract management. My experience as a buyer during my first year with Chevron proved to be my testing ground in the challenges I faced during my employment with Chevron Phils. Extensive use of eProcurement and eSourcing tools in Ariba have increased my efficiency in dealing with the daily demands of work. Although the sourcing, evaluation and award recommendation functions still exist in my current role, the responsibility extends to a more complex area of the Supply Chain.

Regular engagements with the stakeholders were conducted to ensure that the Annual Contracting Plan (ACP) is thoroughly reviewed and implemented. This review enabled the sourcing team to identify and classify projects. Using the Procurement Threshold Risk Assessment, projects are categorized as high or low risk or high or low spend, thus, proper resources were allocated. Sourcing, negotiating and contracting are just some of my core competencies having handled high risk and high spend projects.

Having attended and completed training workshops like the Watershed Best Negotiating Practices, SCOTWORK Advanced Negotiating Skills, Category Management Training, Leadership Roles & Behaviors to name a few, have proven to be valuable tools in understanding the concept of Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

The timely sourcing and purchase of parts and consumables is an essential role that I undertake to enable the company to operate smoothly and effectively through the continuous supply of utilities.

Part of my task is to ensure the availability of the different Precision Measuring Equipment (PME) that are farmed out to the different local and foreign vendors for repair and calibration. This entails accurate monitoring of the repair orders from the time the unit is sent to the repair entity’s facility up to the time the unit is shipped back to LTP on or before the required delivery date. I continuously source out for local and foreign entities that are capable of repairing and calibrating our PME’s to ensure that the most economical and competitive prices are being availed by the company.
