Education: Sacred Heart University; M.S. Chemistry May 2020
Western Connecticut State University; B.A. Chemistry, ACS Certified May 2017
Research:
Master’s Thesis – SHU June 2019 – April 2020
Collaborated with computational chemists to synthesize potential beta-lactamase inhibitors. Learned how to operate the new CombiFlash system for Sacred Heart. Created a synthetic route using cheap materials that are readily available to synthesize the compounds.
Senior Analytical Research – WCSU Spring 2016- 2017
Analyzed natural dissolved organic matter (NDOM) using attenuated total reflectance – Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) along with UV-Vis. Created a methodology to use ATR-FTIR to analyze known concentration of NDOM to analyze the functional groups and the effects of chemical reduction on the NDOM.
Skills: •HPLC •Sample Preparation •Proton & Carbon NMR •FTIR/UV-Vis •Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint •SciFinder •Laboratory Safety
