PRECISION METALFORMING ASSOCIATION / Cleveland OH 5/2017-11/2018 President
Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) is the full-service trade association representing the $137 billion metalforming industry of North America designed to elevate competitiveness, profitability, and advocacy for 800+ member companies.
OPERATIONS
• Managed all business operations of PMA and related entities including PMA Services, Inc. and the PMA Educational Foundation.
• Fulfilled/actualized all fiduciary responsibilities with $9M annual budget oversight including PMA’s, PSI’s, and PMAEF’s annual budget, and P&L forecasting/reporting.
• Collaborated with 44 board members and 6 chairmen to align turnaround initiatives and strategic plan implementation.
• Reorganized and elevated 42-staff member team; while filling 3 director-level, critically open positions.
• Implemented dynamic benchmarking system; transitioned data surveys from paper to an online platform operating in real-time.
• Increased revenue by over 5%, cut expenses by 5% and added $500,000 to PMA’s cash reserve.

• Led the North American delegation to the International Council of Sheet Metal Presswork Association
(ICOSPA) to the ICOSPA Congress in China.
• Presented and collaborated on economic trends, tariffs, government developments, and business conditions per triannual conferences and annual council meetings.
• Designated PMA spokesman to all outside companies, government entities, prospective member companies and stakeholders, affiliate/non-affiliated organizations and national media outlets including the Washington Post, WSJ, and CNBC.
GOVERNMENT ADVOCACY
• Collaborated with U.S. Commerce Secretary, Members of Congress, both PMA’s government relations firm and PR firm to advocate against 232 Tariffs on steel and aluminum.
• Spearheaded the establishment of the Coalition of American Metal Manufacturers and Users
(www.tariffsaretaxes.org), a coalition of metal users against the tariffs.
• Served as primary Advocacy Spokesman for PMA and its members to federal government officials; generated 50+ C-Suite member fly-in annually.
FORGING INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION / Cleveland, OH 9/2009-5/2017 President
The Forging Industry Association (FIA) comprises of 200+ North American metal forging producers, suppliers and service providers. Its members account for 70% of the custom forging volume produced annually in North America. OPERATIONS
• Resolved/grew annual revenues from $2M to $3.2M and improved cash reserves by $500,000; also implemented 2-year budget cycle.
• Redesigned and managed all day to day operations; optimized staff training opportunities for a team of 10+ during a 40% staff retirement turnover.
• Transitioned the triennial Forge Fair Trade Show to a biennial event increasing revenue by 50%. MEMBERSHIP
