Napa Valley’s oldest wine estate established in 1861 run by Mondavi family since 1943 with 157+ years of winemaking expertise.

Recruited into role managing maintenance operations including bottling for 2-million cases, harvest equipment, warehouse, guest center, banquet centers, and overall maintenance / repairs, with direct oversight for 4 staff members and $175,000 in annual maintenance / repair and $1.5 - $3 million capital improvement budget. Ensure maximum production quantity and quality while ensuring reliable and efficient operations of maintenance functions. Oversee maintenance of winery production, tank farms, ammonia systems, storage tank glycol system, tanknet computerized cooling/heating control system, grape presses, pumps, crusher/destemmer; also make sure bottling/packaging is smooth with as little downtime possible. Drive repair / maintenance of buildings, grounds, lighting, exterior, HVAC, visitor safety, and improvement projects.

Positioned facility to improve equipment uptimes 50-60% in following harvest year by reviewing equipment with operators, attendants, mechanics, and winemakers to identify top repair and preventative maintenance priorities.

Hired as Operations Manager by wine industry contact to help build and start-up winery’s new high-speed bottling line to add manufacturing efficiency to operations. Oversaw warehousing, distribution, bottling, and maintenance. Rolled out 6 Sigma and lean programs to add efficiencies and cut costs.

Delivered on-time installation of new 250 bpm bottling line within 4 months; wrote equipment, line start-up, and personnel SOPs, cross-trained bottling personnel as operators / machine attendants, and created maintenance guidelines.

Originally brought into train mechanic and cellar operator / sanitizer on manufacturing and bottling operations while winery was still under construction with only one bottling line. Ramped up employee skill sets and developed SOP, safety procedures and equipment setup protocols. Promoted into position administering safety, training, procedures, personnel development, and enhancement as winery continued to scale up in size to 3 lines. Trained employees in Food/Beverage Safety, GMP, ISO, HACCP, container handling, and equipment safety.

Achieved 86% operational efficiency, representing 32% boost from prior level; added continuous improvement steps into all processes to capture productivity gains.
