Team Leader
Worked on a team of (3) for final project of Chemical Engineering Laboratory.
Project required to characterize the flow characteristics associated with a gear pump and a centrifugal pump by researching the fluid properties that are considered when choosing a correct pump for a specific application and by determining specific flow characteristics that can be achieved with each of these pumps.
Creating pump curves (head vs. flowrate and efficiency vs. flowrate) for each of pumps by varying the system head with each of three different valves: 1) gate valve, 2) ball valve, 3) needle valve.
Project required to determine the flow characteristics associated with each valve (flow rate vs. % open of valve) by investigating how each valve works and determining the specific flow characteristics that should be achieved by each valve.
Assisted in developing a final report and a 30-minutes presentation detailing the design process and possible future improvements.
