Ordering stock timeously avoiding overstocking through applying strict control measures. Supervise staff not to waste consumable stock; keep stock under lock and key. Manage staffing issues, ensure that staff make prior arrangement before taking unplanned leave, when there is shortage first ask for assistance in other wards or book overtime.

Discourage staff from staying away from work to prevent staff shortages which results in increased workload.

Make use of borrowing book for stock and equipment given to other wards. Checking of emergency stock and replenishing all used items. Performing the following duties

Working as shift leader

Provide quality patient care in accordance with current nursing care plans Monitoring of vital signs and observations of reaction of mediation to treatment Promotion and maintenance of personal hygiene physical comfort and re assurance of patient

Supervision of fluid balance

Administration and documentation of prescribed treatment Allocation of subordinates

Ensure that all documents re accurate, clear, concise and complete All entries are signed clear and designation date and time Communication and working co-operatively with others Report relevant finding observations to Doctor
