Atlas Copco India Ltd (July’15- till date)

Design Engineer

Developed Control systems drawings like PLC I/O map, wiring diagram, logic diagram, cause and effect diagram, IO list, Instrument Loop diagram, Instrument datasheets and other documents for turbo expander projects by studying P&ID for the process.

Designed panel layout for the Panel to be used as control panel for turbo-expander jobs.

Deep understanding of PLC Programming (ladder logic and functional block diagram), inputs, and outputs of the system.

Hands on experience on developing HMI interface for operator and its interaction with PLC.

Troubleshooting skills needed to make sure all machines are running as efficiently as possible.

Handled a site project at Reliance, Jamnagar. This site project mainly focused upon Power up of a control panel, downloading the PLC program and setting up its communication with HMI and DCS via Ethernet. It also included logic check and pre-commissioning checks for the project.

PROJECTS

Factory Acceptance test for Compressor Control Panel

On multiple occasions during my current role I am shouldered with responsibility of handling FAT of control panels. This includes the review of all FAT related documents like IO list, wiring diagram, logic diagram, P&ID along with carrying out the FAT of panel During FAT I have handled the review of wiring in panel, firmware and logic download in PLC hardware and HMI, logic check and the HMI review.

Pre-commissioning of Turbo-expanders at Reliance Jamnagar J3 ROGC cracker plant

I was part of the instrumentation and control team which was involved for commissioning of 7 turbo-expander units installed in ROGC cracker plant at Reliance Jamnagar. Along with team, we were responsible for loop check of the instruments, logic check and establishing communication between control panel and Plant central control room.

Development of Advanced Control Strategies for Wastewater Treatment Plant

My research work mainly focuses on development of intelligent decision support tools for wastewater treatment plants. I have implemented novel strategies like Fractional order PI controllers to control the highly nonlinear phenomena occurring in WWTP and I also have used recent soft computing techniques like Fuzzy inference systems as a control technique for WWTP. I have carried out implementation of Advance control strategy like Model Predictive Control which incorporates the concepts of optimization and prediction for improving the performance of the process.
