I am Aphiwe Ngalo. I am currently a Journalist, Social Media and Community Manager. I am also a Rhodes University Journalism and Media Studies Graduate. I specialised in Writing and Editing.
Upon graduating I joined Daily Maverick as a Junior Reporter. After a year of that I pivoted and started working in Digital Marketing as Social Media Manager and Content Writer. I have a keen interest in the digital space, this is why I have moved from traditional journalism to social media, digital media, marketing and community management space.

Cue Newspaper is a newspaper that is only active during the National Arts Festival. While working for Cue I had to for the first time in my life, pitch stories and make sure that the stories were ready by midday. This experience taught me how to work under pressure and produce the best work in the shortest time. I also learnt how to review theatre pieces and profile people.

June 2015 - July 2015 I was a newsreader for the local radio station in Grahamstown for two weeks. During this time, I had to compile the news and read it at the top of the hour.
