Optimal tuning of a PID controller for the speed control of separately excited DC motor & its real time implementation using ARDUINO.

(Details : my project presents the design of an optimal PID controller for speed control of separately excited dc motor. The optimal controller used in this work is based on Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR). The controller is implemented in MATLAB Simulink. Simulation results show that the proposed controller is better than traditional Ziegler-Nichols tuniningtechnique in terms of time domain performance specification. Real time implementation of theproposed controller using Arduino proves the validity of the proposed design.)
