I obtained a master’s degree with honors in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2007; also have received two bachelor’s degrees in General Studies (majored in Arts and Sciences) and Liberal Studies (majored in Business –where I studied Accounting- and Human Behavior) from Athabasca University, Athabasca, Canada; and York University, Toronto, Canada in 2006 and 2004 respectively.

I am currently an associate professor at O. P. I am also the chair of creating the new School of Psychology at the O. P. Jindal University. I am also the internship coordinator and supervisor at JGU. Moreover, I am the Marketing Director and Strategic Planning Management Officer at Recency e.K. Financial and General Trading in Germany and holds the same position with the GMD-Holding since 2007. At Recency e.K. and GMD-Holding he provides consulting and managerial services in which have improved the company’s presence in their industry-relevant milieu as well as financial sectors. I concurrently teach at the University of the People in the USA as an online instructor teaching psychology courses including Emotional Intelligence, General Psychology, and Statistics. Moreover, I am a Full Program and Curricula Examiner with IB (International Baccalaureate, England) in which I take part in examining current programs and curricula and development of the new ones. I am also a mental health counselor running my own private practice. In my private counseling practice, I have treated children, young adults, adults, and seniors with a wide range of mental, behavioral, emotional, and vocational issues and conditions. I have used CBT, Psychoanalysis, REBT, hypnotherapy, play therapy, person-centered therapy, Transactional Analysis, solution-focused therapy, and family therapy methods. Furthermore, I taught at the University of Notre Dame Sydney, Australia for three semesters from 2012 to 2013 and at the University of Sydney from 2009 to 2013. I was a research project manager, and I performed various duties including statistical analyses, research assistant tasks, and data analysis at Sydney University. I also taught Educational Psychology as well as Developmental Psychology (a biological approach to human behavior, but also a DSA view to developmental psychology) at the same university. Furthermore, I was a course coordinator for Developmental Psychology as well as the lecturer for the same course at Notre Dame University. I was also a lecturer and a tutor for Counselling Psychology as well as Professional Ethics in Counselling Psychology courses at Notre Dame University in Sydney, Australia.

I was a school counselor (from K to year 12) from 2009 to 2013 in Sydney, Australia, where I provided counselling, workshops, and assessments to students, parents, and staff members. I also published a weekly staff bulletin and discussed various mental health, cultural, and policy-related issues. During my master’s degree program as a part of my thesis, I developed a qualitative and quantitative instrument that can be used to measure the level of ADHD in children ages 9 to 15 years old. I managed to receive an A+ for my invention.

In 2000, I worked as a tutor at Seneca College, at York University campus until 2002; this was right after I received my Adult Education certificate while completing my Computer Programming diploma at Seneca College. It was then and there that I had the opportunity to teach adolescents with mental and physical challenges along with mainstream students. This experience provided me with a new understanding and appreciation for teachers. As part of my responsibilities, I taught English Communication and Employability to college students.

I received an employment offer from the Toronto District School Board as a grade 11 and 12 high school teacher in November of 2001 on a letter of permission at an alternative high school in Toronto, Canada. I was primarily responsible for teaching grade 12 Navigating Workplace, Introduction to Business and Consumer Behaviour, International Business, Introduction to Marketing, Web page design, and Computer Studies. Furthermore, prior to this position, I was an elementary teacher for two years with Toronto District School Board.

I am utterly aware of the nature of this position and the challenges of dealing with difficult situations and diverse needs of the organization, individuals, and projects, and the space and time restrictions that the incumbent will have to work with. I thrive in a busy and challenging environment, and have much experience with strategic planning, accounting, marketing, people skills, leadership, teaching, creating and nurturing working alliances, “multi-tasking” and using collaborative and eclectic counseling and coaching techniques and strategies for communicating with adults with various challenges including people with English as their second language, and I am able to create an inclusive environment.

I believe my experience as a teacher, university professor, counsellor, scientist, researcher, university program coordinator, program and curriculum developer, and tutor along with other relevant work in the field of education and psychology have prepared me for the tasks outlined for this position. I hope you will seriously consider me for the abovementioned position at your esteemed organization because I sincerely believe I would make a strong addition to your team and I am prepared to work hard in order to meet the high standards that your organization is known for. Thank you for your consideration.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe a significant goal of education and teaching is to facilitate the construction of learning. Learning is making sense of understanding and experiences, and understanding is achieved through a collaborative conversation between one’s environment, personal resources e.g., cognitive, affective, and behavioural repertoire, and her or his schemata; hence, learning emerges in various circumstances and contexts.
