As personal computers became used by everyone I helped out in accounts payable and went to college to update my skills and became a junior accountant in September 1995 and worked in this position until retiring in 2011.

My junior accountant responsibilities included:

§ High volume accounts payable 60-80/day both purchase order invoices and company requests on an in house accounts payable system

§ Reconciled petty cash

§ Reconciled corporate American Express bill

§ Talked to vendors with any discrepancies

§ Paid general invoices by matching approval levels with amount requested

§ Month end journal entries

§ Responsible for updating the ACH vendor files
