PROJECT INVOLVED

Project Title : Energy absorption capability and ballistic resistance of a composite plate subjected to high velocity impact. Description :

In this project I have analyzed the composite laminate for different projectile nose shapes. And found that the energy distribution varied with velocity and a greater delamination tendency at different velocities. By that I have observed that with increase in initial velocity the energy required for shear and tensile failure of the target plate also increases. The impact resisting property of the targeted plate taken for analysis shows different results for various projectile shapes. At the resultant i have Compared the energy absorbtion results of varies projectile shapes and it helps me to find out the optimum choice of plate thickness for applications such as manufacturing body armour and armoured vehicle.
