1. Project : iFulfill (Fraud &Compliance charters)

Client : Bank of America Continuum

Description : iFulfill is a new Origination and fulfillment system for Bank of America for Mortgage Loan processing. This system will fulfill all the phases of loan Mortgage loan life cycle from Origination, Pricing, underwriting, closing and funding. It is a web based application developed in Java. The main responsibility for this project is to test various critical functionalities of the loan life cycle with different products and pricing.

Compliance: Compliance Charter deals with business rules which the Bank validates for a loan so as to comply with the rules and regulation set by the government.

Fraud: This charter deals with validating the authenticity of the Borrower before approving the loan.

Role: Test Lead

Responsibility:

2. Project : Artificial Intelligence (AI) – MUSTANG & CLUES Client : Bank of America (formerly Countrywide Housing Financiers)

Description : Artificial Intelligence (AI) Project is the answer to the automated Underwriting process in Loan Lifecycle. Loan underwriting is the process of evaluating a loan application to determine whether the loan should be funded or not. This Project has an abstract decision-making model that evaluates a loan file in the same way that a human would, and this has been implemented using AI. All the AI Services are used in underwriting process in Mortgage Banking. The main responsibility for this project is to test the various AI Services.

MUSTANG : Mustang is a Business Rules Engine, and all the loan program guidelines are implemented in the form of Business Rules in Mustang. When a loan file XML is passed to Mustang system, it verifies the input values against the Business Rules and returns a guideline violation for each deviation. It also checks data validation and issues Warning messages if there are any discrepancies.

CLUES: CLUES (Countrywide's Loan Underwriting Expert System) is an automated underwriting system that can evaluate and underwrite loans, which makes the underwriting process more efficient. The system was developed to increase the production capacity and productivity of Countrywide branches, improve the consistency of underwriting, and reduce the cost of originating a loan.

The system receives selected information from the loan application, credit report, and appraisal. It then decides whether the loan should be approved or whether it requires further review by a human underwriter. If the system approves the loan, no further review is required, and the application is funded. A CLUE has been in operation since February 1993 and is currently processing more than 8500 loans each month in over 300 decentralized branches around the country.

3. Project : iOriginate

Description : iOriginate is an application for automating the Mortgage Loan Originating process. iOriginate is primarily a data capture and integration platform for selling, originating and fulfilling mortgage loans. The data capture constitutes primarily borrower data relating to loan applications, plans to integrate or build significant contact management and features for a variant of the product to be provided to a distributed sales force. iOriginate is mortgage loan origination system, which allows originators to create loan applications at various branches across United States. These loan applications will be validated, processed, registered and submitted to fulfillment systems for funding. NexOS is a multi-phase (and multi-release) program to develop loan origination and fulfillment applications supporting Consumer Market Division(CMD), Full Spectrum and Whole sale lending divisions, and Countrywide business partners, such as mortgage brokers, strategic alliance partners, and joint venture partners. The first phase of the program involved the point of sale application used by retail originators and mortgage brokers. The second phase will offer fulfillment capabilities.

Description : EDGE is the most widely used system in Bank of America. The application handles every phase of the loan origination process from prequalification to funding, tracks inventory pipelines, and facilitates printing of loan documents. EDGE caters to the huge loan processing needs of two major divisions (CMD & WLD) of BOA, with the help of about 700 branch servers in the production Environment. Each branch is linked with the corporate office so that loan data can be transmitted frequently to provide current information for management and secondary marketing purposes. This system interfaces with other systems on Bank’s network such as CLUES (Countrywide’s Loan Underwriting Expert System), Nexos (Bank of America’s Loan Origination System), Status mart WLWS and a Reporting System for processing loans to closing and funding.

Description : CWBC, a Mortgage Banker is a subsidiary of Countrywide Financial Corporation, America's leading wholesale lender which is recently acquired by Bank of America. Countrywide's Wholesale Lending Division (CWBC) provides home loans to consumers, whose loans are originated and processed by a mortgage broker. Approximately 25,000 mortgage brokers work with this division through a nationwide network of more than 50 branch offices, four regional processing centers, and via Countrywide Wholesale Business Channel, a robust business-to-business Web site at www.cwbc.com. Countrywide hence is in need of an application which can cater nearly 5k applications a day with more than 3k varieties of Loan programs. A total of 60 WLD Branches and 6 Centers use Branch. CWBC is to handle the incoming volume of loan application. These branches use the Edge system for processing, funding, and document preparation. Countrywide Wholesale Business Channel is the Web application which makes all the application procedures online and hence hastens the process as well as makes it hassle free.
