To obtain a position as a design, project or plant engineer requiring the disciplines of mechanical engineering.

EXPERIENCE

House Renovation (4/2019 – Current)

Designed and performed all work for the following: kitchen renovation, window and door replacements, HVAC (unit sizing and install, ductwork, and electrical), attic insulation, bathroom renovation, roof tearoff and replacement, fencing/soundwall. EnviroCare, International, American Canyon, CA (4/2016 – 4/2019) Project Engineer

Membrane Technology and Research, Inc., Menlo Park, CA (1/2002 – 3/2016) Project Engineer and Pressure Equipment Engineer

Performed field service for the following: venturi scrubber startup and maintenance stack testing, gas sampling to monitor mercury scrubber performance, and spray cooling system maintenance.

● Developed API650 and API620 compliance rules for scrubber vessels. Coordinated AWS D1.6 and ASME Section IX welder qualifications for scrubber vessels and piping.

Assisted in prilling tower conceptual scrubber design including preliminary fabrication drawings, quotations, and CFD modeling.

● Assisted in design of multi-stage venturi scrubber for fertilizer plants. Designed quick-opening scrubber manway doors for several standard sizes. Used FEA to optimize designs; built and leak-tested a prototype to verify design. Doors were implemented into several scrubber vessels.

● Wrote passivation standard to prevent weld area corrosion in stainless steel scrubber. Designed and supervised the fabrication of a twin cyclone separator with tungsten carbide lining used in the removal of abrasive particulates from a bagasse boiler exhaust.

Designed and supervised the fabrication of a spray cooling system for a cement plant Gas Cooling Tower.

Designed packaged piping membrane gas separation systems using 3-D modeling

(Solidworks)

(Solidworks).

Designed Pressure Vessels for projects per ASME Section VIII Div.1 given seismic, marine, wind and piping loads. Performed finite element analysis on pressure vessels and heat exchangers.

● Reviewed project specifications for project quote phase, and project compliance.

● Reviewed vessel drawings and calculations for approval for all company projects.

● Specified and sized all system components per company or client specifications.

● Designed all piping for projects per ASME B31.3 including flexibility analysis.

● Structural design and analysis per AISC.

Johansing Iron Works, Oakland, CA (10/1996 – 6/2001) Project Engineer

Developed fabrication drawings for vessels, piping and structures using Solidworks and Autocad. Scheduled and monitored production.

Managed quality assurance for the fabrication of gas separation systems. Wrote and implemented procedures for shop inspections during project production.

Designed new hardware and pressure vessel for a low differential pressure membrane module. Integrated new design into an existing test system to demonstrate improved gas separation and lower energy consumption for low pressure applications.

Participated in the development of new pressure vessel designs, and a membrane module design resulting in (3) patents.

Directed installation and startup of membrane and compressor systems including on-site field service team and client employed mechanics and technicians.

● Structural detailing for local fabricators using 3-D modeling (Solidworks 2007)
