Industrial training at Vedanta general cargo berth (VGCB) private limited in 2018 on Increasing wagon loadibility.

A detailed study was conducted on wagon loadibility and following observations made to improve the wagon loadibility.

Industrial training at Rajiv Gandhi international airport in 2017 on Baggage handling system and water management system.

Description: Baggage handling system plays a key role in airport. Upgradation of system is always done to enhance the screening process and to dispatch the bags to the required destination within a short span by upgrading SCADA and PLC. Suggestions:

The present BHS (Baggage handling system) uses ATR (Automatic tag reader) with laser beam to read the bags. They have a chance of misreading the bags based on bag and tag orientation. RFID (Radio frequency identifier) can be used instead of laser beam which can read the bag with 100%.

Lacing machine is used for joining the edges of the belt. It can be replaced with hot joint

(finger joint) which will increase the belt life and reduce the wear and tear of the rollers in BHS.

The BHS doesn’t have any bag centering device. By installing centering device bag Jams and miss-track can be avoided and hence efficiency of the system will increase. PROJECTS:

Design and Numerical Analysis of Automated Coil winding machine Description: It is proposed to design an automated coil winding machine to wind and unwind the coil at a speed of 2800 rpm and torque of 9.41 N-m. The stresses and deflections are calculated at a speed of 2800rpm using static structural analysis. Modal analysis is carried out to find the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the proposed automated coil winding machine. Harmonic analysis has been carried on the automated coil winding machine to check whether it can meet the requirement of with G2.5 quality of balancing displacements. Validation was done using FEM method.

Pedal Operated Hacksaw

Description: The objective of this project was to design, fabricate and experimentally investigate the working of Pedal Driven Hacksaw (PDH). PDH is working on Slider Crank Mechanism. The experiment was done using PDH on wood. PDH reduces the effort of cutting plywood to a great extent.
