Having strong product knowledge: kind of product, quality, brands, paper properties (e.g. gsm, brightness, thickness etc), recommended end use / application, mill capabilities & constraints, minimum order quantity per item etc.
Understand customer’s requirement (e.g. product, end use, size, grain direction, paper properties etc) and translate it properly on the Sales Confirmation. Any special requests from customers should be put on the Special Instruction column of SC and further followed it up closely with mills.
Understand market specific standard and its conversion to mill’s standard (e.g. pt, lbs, inch, cwt, Ren, M etc)
Closely monitor customer orders, started from order taking till cargo arrival at customers’ premises.
Any samples being sent to customers to get their order, should be organized through Mill QC to ensure consistent quality.
