Position: Shipping 1 (Chemical Plant Operator)
Duties Include:
Shipper 1:
Load/unload tank wagons and railcars
Loaded flexi-tanks to ship overseas to certain customers
Made sure all the Rosin vents were cleaned out daily, so the tanks didn’t cave in
Pump out the dikes that had water in them
In charge of driving the track mobile in order to spot up the railcars on the railroad tracks which meant we were always in communication with the railroad company.
Shipper 2: Entry Level Position upon entering the Plant
Load flatbeds with drums and totes
Fill drums and totes with product from either tanks or from unloading tank wagons
Made sure that housekeeping of the plant was done daily
10/23/2013- 04/03/2015: Dorchester Water and Sewer Department
Position: Pump Station Mechanic
Duties Include:
Preforms preventive and predictive maintenance; identifies equipment
deficiencies and preforms diagnostic testing.
Preforms general maintenance on grounds and structures; lubricates equipment; repairs and installs piping and pumps.
Operates crane trucks or overhead cranes for pump removal and installation, generators during power failures, assist in vac truck operations, mechanical measuring instruments such as torque wrenches, tachometers, dial indicators, micrometer, pressure and vacuum gauges, etc.
Operates pump stations to include cleaning equipment, ensuring proper operation. Preforms lockout tag out operations.
Preforms after hour duty, including emergency response and troubleshooting within 6 months of hire.
Enters and exits manholes, pump station wet wells, and other confined spaces to preform inspections, maintenance and repairs.
Makes routine electrical repairs if necessary; refers advanced work to electricians.
Subject to 24-hour on call status; May be required to work during emergency conditions.
08/6/2010 – 10/22/2013: Dorchester County Water and Sewer
Position: Water Technician
Duties Included:
Reading and recording water meters to facilitate customer billing.
Removed meters and terminated water service as appropriate, re-install meter
Assist with special projects within the department as required. Such as
installing new meters or replacing and repairing defective/leaking water meters.
Detects and reports atypical conditions, such as identifying damaged,
malfunctioning, and tampered meters and detecting and reporting leaks, exposed wiring and other safety hazards; being an information source for the department.
Constructed, installed, and maintained water service line and mains, and associated
appurtenances complete water taps and service connections.
09/18/2007 – 06/04/2010: Dorchester County Water Authority
Position: Utility Worker
Duties Included:
Install and repair pipes, conduits, meters, hydrants and fitting.
Assist in making of all size taps, types of joints, and in repairing all types of broken mains, valves, meters, lines and hydrants.
Maneuver and set manhole rungs and covers.
Read, removes, replaces, sets or shuts off meters.
Respond to the public inquires and investigates complaints associated with wastewater collection and water distribution systems.
