Summary: I am working as an Engineer (QUALITY CONTROL) at Tubular production division as a Quality inspector. Engaged with the quality control activities at panel fabrication division. Some of my day-to-day tasks & responsibilities include:

Conducting Raw material inspection and review of Test Certificate (TC) and the specification requirements.

Reading and interpreting the various engineering drawings required in panel formation work and coordinate with engineering and production units.

Preparation and approval of Work procedures and Operation Planning Sheets (OPS) according to the project requirements.

Preparing welding procedure specification (WPS) for various grades of tube materials like T12, T22, T23, T91, GrC, .Etc.

Surveillance and monitoring the Process activities like fit-up, Preheat, welding, PWHT as per SIP and WPS.

Performing Inspections and tests may include, dimensional inspection, document review, ball test, visual weld inspection, LPI, RTI, hydro test, sponge test, material verification and colour code verification.

Calibration and Usage of handheld measuring equipments such as spectrometer, vernier caliper, screw gauge, weld measuring gauge, Hardness meter, D-meter, DFT-meter, temperature measuring gun, thermal chalk to meet the quality.

Maintaining records of QC related measuring instruments like calibration reports which is required in audits. Also responsible for maintaining daily quality report and record keeping.

Witnessing and Reviewing Non Destructive Testing (NDT) activities in welding compare with codes and standards (SIP, CQP).

Coordinate with external customers (NTPC, LLOYDS, BARC, .etc.), and offering the stages as per Standard Inspection Procedures (SIP).

Preparing SAP-based quality documents such as history cards with the help of group manufacturing certificate (GMS), attestations, hydro reports, heat treatment reports, NDT reports, weld map, dimensional reports, PMI report, rework inspection sheet, checklist etc. for handling over to the client and maintaining proper filling system. • Inspecting the composition of parent material with spectroscope in accordance with the given drawing to create the PMI report

• To identify the defects of weldment at hot side and cold side of a panel.

• Completed fit-up joints must be engaged with welders with proper electrodes.

• To check the weldment of the opening tubes and offer it for radiography test.

• To check the STRESS RELIEVING movement sheet with all prior data And offer it for heat treatment.

• To check the hydro pressure and offer the panel to hydro station for hydro test.

• To check the dimensions of the completed panel and prepare history card with relevant engineering drawings.

• Offering completed panels and coils to external customer with all quality documents such as HC cards, NDT reports and dimensional reports.
