DATA CENTER SUPPORT TECHNICIAN: 02/20/19 To Present

Responsibilities are to manage infrastructure projects and day by day activities of the Data Center at the following locations, 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York and 32 Ave of Americas in New York work with vendors and application owners to ensure customers service satisfactory that Data Center policies and procedures of NBCU are followed. Create in Service Now the following tickets, Task ticket, INC ticket, RITM ticket and CHG/Ctasks ticket. Monitor DC Environment by using Synapsense, to check site temperature and humidity. Check power reading, check HVAC Status and check CRAC Unit for any alarm. Use Trellis database for checking and inventory all equipment in DC, ordering parts that needed. Rack preparation, using wire map diagrams, running cables from source to destination through Ceiling, floors, walls and conduit. Rack and Stack equipment according to NBCUNI standards including, Network switches, routers firewall and server .Install PDUs, ran and patch cables to various patch panels. Cable structures are implemented according NBCUNI standards for cable termination, rack dressing comply with regulation. Traveled to remote sites to Install Servers and replace hardware equipment at each DC, configuring ILO with various IP addresses resolve any network issues with customer, perform upgrade and configuration of the following cables, Cat 5, CAT6, Twin X, Single-mode, and Multi-mode Fiber cables from Distribution Layer to the Core Layer, Installation and Support, testing connectivity with Fluke. Troubleshoot Network switch ports for new host, Interface with various Vendors to ensure the right equipment was Installed at the location. Maintenance of the Data Center Cables in each Cabinet, Tracing and troubleshooting fibers cables from SAN to VMware servers. Ship and pack equipment that are de-commission. Rack and stack new equipment in Cabin. Wipe drives to be reused, handle tape backup media.

Decommissioned old equipment RMA, updated spreadsheet with any changes that has been made on each site, used Service Now to track and worked on all trouble tickets, HP Open view to monitor the network system, using Fluke, if the equipment was found to be defective, we replaced it by shipping overnight, so that it can be ready for production. Each month there was a standard health check.

Worked as Remote Hands to support Vendors and Technicians to install Ciena, Juniper equipment within DC. Will be responsible for racking and stacking network devices, cabling, terminating, testing, labeling and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic homeruns and cross-connects while responding to Technical Support Requests within the agreed Service Level Agreement time frame. As the Remote Hands Technician I will also provide assistance to other members of the Operations team to ensure 100% uptime of all customers and critical infrastructure.
