I have worked with GE T&D Noida as a Senior Buyer, responsible for sourcing of Power Transformers/LT Transformers/inverter duty transformer across various businesses of GE in India (AC Substations, Solar Plants, HVDC substations etc.,). Along with Transformers I have experience in sourcing of commodities/equipment used in solar power plant e.g., LT/HT Power cables and control cables, PV Modules, ESE, Solar inverter and WMS.

From Aug 2017 to May 2018 I worked with Andritz Hydro, a global leading manufacturer of Hydro Turbines and associated electro- mechanical equipment on “Water to Wire” basis as a Marketing & Proposal Engineer.

From Aug 2015 to Aug 2017 I was with Jakson Limited, a power generation & distribution solutions provider in India, as a Costing & Tendering Engineer.

I possess excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal & team building skills with the ability to grasp new concepts promptly and apply those efficiently and creatively for delivering superior results. June’ 18 – Oct’19 : In GE T&D as a Senior Buyer.

Major Responsibilities

Ensuring that the specific Purchase Order is ordered within limits of the set baseline schedule, budget and as per end client technical requirements.

Rolling RFQs to all eligible vendors and then identifying the potential vendor based on available budget and their adherence to available technical specification and GE sourcing policies.

Work across teams in tandem with engineering, project management, contract management and logistics to ensure timely closure of order and timely supplies.

Negotiate with supplier to ensure that commodity and services are purchased with maximum savings, maximum DTP, in coherence with end client’s technical requirement and delivery schedule.

Negotiating commercial contract with suppliers and working in conjunction with supplier legal team and GEs contract management/legal team to close the order in best interest of GE.

Actively participate in kick off meetings to help define smooth coordination process between GE and supplier.

Understanding market dynamics and come up with strategies to meet sourcing objectives.

Assess supplier capabilities and propose vendor development. Raising request for vendor onboarding and educating and raising awareness of vendors on GE’s ethics and EHS policies.

Build and maintain strong relationship with suppliers to ensure continual improvement in sourcing process.

Managing any supplier related issues.

Conducting negotiations at tendering stage, forming pre-bid tie ups with vendors to support sales team in order intake.

Maintaining vendor data base and MIS of sourcing related activities for all ongoing Solar projects and State utility projects.

Supporting stake holders across all sourcing commodities and ensuring positive OTD. Since Aug’ 17 to May’18: In Andritz Hydro as a Team Member. Major Responsibilities

Business development and building strong customer relationship.

Identifying potential markets/customers and obtaining factual status of the ongoing hydro projects.

The responsibility to identify hydro projects under pre-feasibility stage with the NODAL agencies in India and efficiently tracking their development.

Sizing of Hydro turbines for tenders depending on the site conditions and power requirement.

Preparing detailed techno-commercial offer for complete Electro Mechanical Package for Hydro Projects.

Scrutinize the tender documents, study contractual conditions/QR for qualification/ equipment specifications/drawings, taking care of all vital tender/contract conditions and analysing their cost implication on the project.

Prepare the rates and indirect cash costs, cash flows based on tender strategy.

Organizing Pre-bid and Post-bid meetings to ensure complete customer satisfaction and to redress clarifications pertaining to technical & commercial aspect of the offer.

Responsibility to prepare govt. e-tenders pertaining to procurement of Diesel Generator sets.

Estimating the expected cost and preparing price bids to know the allocation of the budget for the project.

Keeping track of tender results and carry out price analysis.

Collection of tender specific commercial & technical documents such as data sheets/ ISO certificates/ drawings/ type/routine test certificates/ financial statements/EMD/ project completion certificates etc. required for clearing a bid on technical and commercial grounds.
