Assistant Parts Manager

Lexus of Edmonton, Edmonton, Alberta

July 2009 – August 2018

Over nine years I worked my way up to the assistant manager position. A small but busy parts department. Everyone did wholesale orders, helped the back counter (shop technicians), took phone calls and assisted at the front counter. I also helped train new staff and helped coached junior advisors. I also submitted all our daily orders to the parts distribution center and kept track of fluid, battery and tire stock. Even while doing this I still managed to take care of the majority of our bigger wholesale customers, Became the departments go to guy.

Back Counter Parts

Devon Chevrolet, No longer exists

June 2008 – July 2009

Worked with the technicians in the shop and prepared estimates for needed parts, maintenance items and tires. Also did orders for our wholesale and fleet customers, We handled our own shipping and receiving, I was the first one there in the morning. Prepared wholesale orders for delivery and put stock away. Dealership was one closed by General Motors.

Back Counter Parts

The Gear Center, North Edmonton, Alberta

April 2007 – June 2008

This was my first job in parts once I got out of radio. Worked with the technicians and prepared estimates for heavy and light duty transmission and differential repairs. I also prepared the needed parts for power take off installations and kept track of fluids and shop supplies and ordered as needed. Turned it from a two man into a one man operation. When I had time if the reps at the front counter needed a hand on the phones or with customers I would assist.

Assistant News Director

Peace River Broadcasting. Peace River Alberta

After graduating from a radio arts program I took a job as a junior reporter. Covered local news and sports. Eventually I became the morning voice for news and sports on both the AM and FM feeds run by the company. Over my time I covered everything, including elections, court trials, local disasters and major events. I also did some Junior B and Senior hockey broadcasts, on location reporting and submitted stories to the national wire.
