August 2014 – Current Al Ruya Bilingual School (Private School, Kuwait)

I am currently working as the Vice Principal for Middle and High Girls Section. My responsibilities include:

Instructional:

Assist the principal by providing input into the development of instructional programs and tools and ensuring compliance with International accreditation requirements.

Meet on a regular basis with the academic staff for the discussion of matters concerning the improvement and welfare of the curriculum.

Develop student discipline policies in conjunction with the staff and ensure these are openly communicated to students, staff and parents.

Resolve disciplinary issues as escalated by relevant staff.

Recommend suspensions and expulsions to the principal based on the recommendations from the relevant staff and self-observation.

Professional Development (PD):

Identify development requirements for the staff and bring to the Principals attention.

Encourage staff to participate in activities and programs that will help them develop their skills.

Recruitment and Orientation:

Review class projections and assist the principal in developing staffing plan for their stage in coordination with the respective administrative staff.

My position was Strategic Leader of CPD, Head of House and Teacher of ICT/Computing, teaching the American Curriculum (Grades 6 – 12). I had a 98% A* - C pass rate for all my classes and awarded Teacher of the Month for going above and beyond my duty. I have contributed to Teacher Training in Assessment and liaised with the ICT department in the Elementary School. Also, I was a mentor for MyHayah project and I was a member of the Teacher Support program, aiding colleagues with pupils with challenging behaviour, setting up Gifted and Talented Register & developing CPD.

September 2008 – July 2011 Southborough High School (Business and Enterprise School, UK)

I was Teacher of ICT and PSHE, teaching the National Curriculum KS3-KS5 (Age 11-18) and under Edexcel Examination Board in KS4 - 5. Examination results for my GCSE 2011 class were 88% A*- C and 100% A* - C Year 10. In addition, my responsibilities included: Year 7 Form Tutor, dealing with pastoral care, Teaching Year 5 & 6 pupils from Primary Schools in the community, Mentor for PGCE and Student Associate Scheme.

July 2010 – August 2010 Egyptian American Cultural Centre (Private sector, Alexandria, Egypt)

During the summer, I taught English as a Foreign Language to students at Upper Intermediate level. I followed the American scheme of work set by the centre, which is equivalent to the British Council scheme for English in Egypt. I taught grammar, intonation, vocabulary and several lessons consisted of discussion and role play.

June 2008 – September 2008 Islamic School for Secular Studies (Private School, Mauritius)

This internship was teaching English as a Foreign Language with pupils aged 11-18. I taught lessons in English Language and Literature under the Oxford and Cambridge examination board as well as ICT. I also offered private tuition as well as invigilating examinations and aiding preparation for oral assessments.

January 2008 – May 2008 Chessington Community College (Sports School, UK)

My final practice as part of my PGCE training, was teaching ICT in KS3- KS5 under AQA and Edexcel Board. I worked with the majority of pupils with English as their second language. In addition, I assisted with ICT Club at lunchtimes and after school. At the end of my PGCE course I received Outstanding.

October 2007 – December 2007 Fullbrook School (State School, UK) During my first teaching placement I taught a diverse range of ICT schemes throughout KS3-KS5 including WJEC and Edexcel GCSE.

June 2007 – July 2007 Leicester High School for Girls (Private School, UK) This placement was part of the Student Associate Scheme (SAS), which gave me a great insight into teaching and the dynamics of a classroom, and gave me experience of working in a private selective school. I assisted pupils from across the school from year 7-12 in ICT and helped the school maintain their ICT equipment. I supported with French, Music and Geography lessons also, demonstrating the use of ICT across the curriculum.

March 2017 – Current Kuwait Television (Senior News Anchor & Correspondence Reporter)

I have done numerous reports with interviews for both the English News and Week in 30 minutes programs which air on KTV2. Interviews have included: Marzouq Ali Al Ghanim, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Sabah, Sheikha Zaina Al Sabah, Ibraheem Dashti, Bader Bouresli, Noha Nabil, Ambassador of UK to Kuwait, Sheikh Mubarak Al Sabah and Sheikha Bibi Nasser Al Sabah, the Minister for Education, Minister of Information, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khaled Al Jarallah, Sheikh Faisal Al Humoud Al Sabah and more. I prepare my own reports, edit the footage and write the scripts for my reports. I also present the News for Kuwait Radio FM and AM, I am experienced in autoque and improvisation.

February 2017 - February 2017 Pro Kart Kuwait (Host and Presenter)

Under Sheikh Ahmed Dawood Al Sabah, I hosted and presented the Pro Kart Event in Kuwait. It was a live event and I interviewed international guests from the pro kart show as well as introducing the event and commentating.

September 2008 – 2011 NASUWT Union – (Treasurer and School Representative, UK)

This was a voluntary position, whereby my role was to direct financial planning, procurement, and investment of funds for the trade union. I had the authority for signing claims on behalf of my local association. Advise the local secretary on short- and long-range financial plans, in addition to preparing financial reports for local association members. Furthermore, as a School Representative it was my duty to act on behalf of members with any issues affecting their teaching and support them in any disciplinary actions against them.

April 2006 - November 2006 Merlin Entertainment (Trade Executive, UK)

Main responsibilities were for training colleagues on both BT Rialto and Omnisale systems and working in the administration department. In addition to making a variety of bookings such as group, corporate, and schools for 5 attractions, including Madame Tussauds and London Eye, duties included; dealing with emails, faxes, bacs forms and franking for clients across the continents.
