Working with. M/s AEGIS LOGISTICS LIMITED at Gujarat Pipavav Site Aegis Group owns and operates a network of shore-based tank farm installations for the receipt and handling of bulk liquids. These terminals are in Mumbai, Kochi, Pipavav and Haldia, and are connected by pipelines to various berths for handling the export and import of hazardous chemicals, petroleum products, and petrochemicals. The terminals are certified to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHAS 18001:2007, have an excellent record of safe operations, and are fully equipped with modern firefighting and safety equipment conforming to all Indian regulations. Aegis Group is a leader in the sourcing, shipping, and distribution of LP gases (LPG and propane) into India. The group handles more than 700,000 MT of LPG per annum and expects this to continue rising as India’s demand for energy increases. Services offered include complete supply chain management from product planning, sourcing, and shipping, through to receipt, storage, and despatch by pipeline and tankers to the point of consumption. I had initiated a drive to bring down the incidence of absenteeism, late coming and early going by organizing a sustained contact programme with our supervisors with the aim that they would provide onward counseling and preventing to the chronic absenteeism, late coming and early going. This had yielded visible improvement.
Initiated proactive actions to build healthy I.R.
In the wake of mechanization helped to greatly reduce the number of contract laborers in the manual loading and unloading operations in terminal as well as jetty operation by devising a mutually acceptable separation scheme. This has led to 45% deduction of contract labors.
