Projects

•Simulation of Satellite Orbits (May’19- Ongoing)

Mentor: Prof. Balaji Devaraju, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur.

–Developed a package in Julia language which can be used for simulation of orbits of the satellite around the Earth.

–Successfully implemented the J2 effect of the earth in the program with currently 2 reference systems.

–Our Future intent is to design a more user-friendly version and incorporate other non-conservative factors.

•Analysis of Arch Bridge (Course Project CE272A) (March’19-April’19)

Mentor: Prof. D.C. Rai, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kanpur.

–Learned and worked on SAP2000, Structural Software used for Design and Analysis of structures.

–Analysed the differences between the Real and Experimental model of an Arch Bridge with a moving Vehicle on it. – Tried to establish the validity of the Principle of Superposition.

•Mechanical Dragon (Course Project TA201A) (Feb’19-March’19)

Mentor: Prof. Kantesh Balani, Department of Material Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur.

–Designed and fabricated model of a Dragon that uses rotation for flapping effect.

–The methods used were arc welding, brazing, casting, shaping and cutting of sheet metal to form the desired shapes.

•Concrete Mixer (Course Project TA202A) (Aug’18-Nov’18)

Mentor: Prof. Arvind Kumar, Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Kanpur.

–Designed and fabricated working model of concrete mixer to combine cement, sand and water to form concrete.

–Implemented various processes like milling, drilling, lathe and CNC under supervision of a guide.

–Estimated the total cost of project by allocating value to each process, labour, raw material used in the project.
