A) PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science in Geology (1980) from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt.

37 years of broad and diversified experience in Petrophysics including:

Analyze open and cased hole logs and provide accurate and precise log evaluation of drilled and drilling vertical/horizontal wells. This includes wireline and logging while drilling (LWD).

Initiate optimum logging programs (open/cased hole) and advise on logging operations in order to ensure that sufficient information is obtained to fully evaluate the intervals drilled.

Plan and monitor cost effective logging programs.

Share with other disciplines in the resulting decision making required (perforation interval selection, testing, casing points)

Apply the time-lapse technique for the vertical and horizontal wells using different kinds of data (TDT, RST, PLT, FSI, WFL to update the information on hydrocarbon contacts, and water encroachment in the areas before drilling of new and sidetrack wells so as to minimize the risk of penetrating any unwanted water/gas zone.

Gather/update the petrophysical data (porosity, permeability etc.) for the proposed drilling projects, for optimizing the vertical/horizontal well targets.(Creating the petrophysical input for the well prognosis/proposal)

Review the available open and cased hole logs of the shut in and wells indicating sub-optimal production performance, and if required propose new logs to be run to diagnose/analyze the issues before any remedial action. This includes also the cement and corrosion logs (USIT, CBL etc).

Currently I am using IP software, (Past experience in ELAN).

Initiate with team members (RE, Geologist) the logging programs for MDT, and analyze the results for pressure measurement and fluid sampling/Pump out/VIT.

Delineate Geological tops and reservoir zones.

Advise on Well Log Data Base issues and IT-strategies for Petrophysics.

Administer and, when necessary, initiate contracts with relevant service companies. This includes definition of the scope of work, methodology, cost, monitoring, and reviewing invoices.

Participate in the training and development of national employees

Investigate new logging tools and techniques, evaluate results and recommend as appropriate.

Initiate coring and Core analysis programs.

Update and refine the knowledge of the petrophysical reservoir Parameters and participate in multi-disciplinary reviews.

Carry out the detailed petrophysical field studies (net pay determination, core/log calibration, capillary pressure, permeability prediction, reservoir simulation input).

Provide petrophysical support to the Exploration Department for prospect evaluation and well evaluation.

Proven ability to deliver projects as part of an asset team or individually.

Mentor and coach fresh graduate and national engineers.

B) EXPERIENCE / ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Mar, 1997 – until Nov, 1997 at Qatar Petroleum (Definite contract)

Nov, 1997– Feb, 2020 at Qatar Petroleum (Indefinite contract)

Petrophysicist in different multi-disciplinary teams for Dukhan Field (Arab C reservoir team, and Arab D /Uwainat reservoir team).Currently working in the Arab D/Uwainat Reservoir Team of Dukhan Field

Conduct all the pre-drilling log evaluations for the offset wells for the petrophysical input for well prognoses for Arab D/UWT (carbonate) reservoirs wells 12 prognosis per year).

Provide key input with latest fluid contacts with time lapse logging for optimizing new well subsurface targets, optimizing well placement, characterizing fluid saturations for producers, injectors/observers.

Focal Point for PLC for all Dukhan Field, +/- 100 well logged per year, communicate with drilling and Service Provider (monthly meetings) to ensure smooth operations. Also responsible for preparing quarterly the Dukhan PLC Plan and the required budget for all Dukhan wells, monitor the operations and ensure timely and on-budget implementation.

Team member in PEGI Project for Arab D with fluid contact interpretations used as basis for time lapse GOC and OWC mapping. Issuing of all Arab D contacts evaluation reports.

Planning of Petrophysical data acquisition, open and cased hole logs (both wireline and LWD) as (RST, FSI, PSP, PLT, SFRT, PEX-HRLA-AIT, ADT, USIT, PLT, WFL,FSI),

and execution monitoring.

Initiated optimum logging programmes for all Arab D and Uwainat reservoirs and advised on logging operations for wireline, and LWD in order to ensure that sufficient information is obtained to fully evaluate the intervals drilled.

For new/replacement well projects and workovers, proposed offset well logging cased hole programming execution and evaluation for remedial actions.

Petrophysical data QA/QC and analysis from new and replacement drill projects used for input to updating geological/simulation models, steering well profiles and inputting into integrated field studies.

Initiate with team members (RE, Geologist) the logging programs for MDT, and analyze

The results for pressure measurement and fluid sampling/Pump out/VIT, for fluid characterization and supported planning for the Arab D and Uwainat reservoir as input to the new models.

Provide the petrophysical input for well projects and workovers including offset well logging and evaluation and advise on workover programming.

Regular evaluation and analysis of voidage requirements (PLT analysis and integration).

Provide detail technical work in support to various activities including well prognosis, workovers and rigless operations.

As part of ongoing field development activities, provided key input with latest fluid contacts with time lapse logging for optimizing subsurface targets and well placement.

QC the logging data, and advice on Well Log Data Base issues and IT-strategies for Petrophysics.

QC is done on a routine basis for all the petrophysical data which includes both openhole and cased hole wireline log data and LWD data, supervising and advising on repeat log sections, calibration, Checking memory and Real time data.

Held regular meetings with the LWD and Wireline Contractors for data acquisition planning

Creating the final logs (both wireline and LWD) data QA/Qced as per QP standards before archival.

Investigate new logging tools and techniques, evaluate results and recommend as appropriate. (For example, investigating the advantages of using the OH Tractor for logging of the high THP horizontal wells instead of CT. investigated the move from TDT the RST logging.

Participate in the training and development of national employees, provided coaching on to Qatari staff within team and on attachment from other sections.

From Aug 1983 to MAR 1997 worked at "BAPETCO" (The Shell/Egypt joint venture)

Identify and carry out the petrophysical/Geological analysis for the Fractured Reservoir

Abu Roash F in Bard Eldin area using the FMI and other logs.

At the beginning I spent almost one year working as wellsite Petroleum

Engineer looking after casing, cementing, mud logging, and logging).

Analyze open and cased hole logs and provide the quick look log evaluation for the new drilled wells in Morgan and October fields for Miocene and Nubia reservoirs in the Gulf of Suez area.

Share with other disciplines in the resulting decision making required (perforation interval selection, testing, casing...)

Share in the building of a new Well Log Data Base for the company.

*My experiences in Egypt and Qatar are covering both carbonate and clastic reservoirs, for development, appraisal, and exploration wells.
