Sand Bypass Project Durban – R 175 b

The project consisted of a sand – hopper 96m. in diameter with a pre-filter bay and pump station, with a control office. the sand hopper has a capacity of 11000 m3 of sea sand. This was built to do sand replacement onto the main beach and the surrounding beaches. I managed all construction activities on site as well as a site engineer 3 foreman and 108 workers, all planning and costing, reporting to the Contracts Manager.

Kibali Gold Mine Project, Democratic Republic of the Congo - $125m

The contract scope of work was to construct a new mine for the client – Rand Gold including a 1.5-megawatt hydroelectric power station in the Nzoro river. I managed the construction of the hydroelectric power station, from earth works to completion, reporting to the Contracts Director on site.

Douglas Mining Optimization Project Witbank - R550m

The project scope of works was to upgrade the mines capacity from 5000 t to 9000 t daily production, and included a 1000t coal silo a 42 m high north tip, and 30 km of conveyor to carry the coal to the processing plant and new workshops,a waste water treatment plant, 4 new ablution blocks, and the upgrading of 2 existing ones, I managed all construction activities on the civil side ( concrete, and wet trades as well as the commissioning of the water treatment plant, I had 6 site engineers, 3 General foreman and 42 senior foreman with 450 labour on site reporting to the senior contract manager .

Gauteng Freeway Improvement - R250billion

I managed the construction of all the median walls, the elands interchange tunnels, and the surfacing of the tunnels. I reported to the Contracts Manager, and had a team consisting of sub-contractors a site agent, 3 engineers and 6 foremen with their teams. All programming and costing on these sections was part of my daily duties.

Water Reservoirs for DEWA - 870m AED

The project consisted of the construction of 4 18-million-gallon water reservoirs for the client Dubai water and electricity authority. I managed the day to day construction activities of reservoir no 4. I reported to the Contracts Director, and did all programming, planning, and relevant activities, I also managed the 2 concrete batching plants on site, ensuring the optimum production of the plants to supply the 1800 m3 of concrete used daily on the project. I had a team of 2 engineers,5 foremen, 2 sub-contractors and 200 labour, the batch plant had 4 batchers and 16 concrete mixer trucks with 6- 62 m mobile concrete pumps
