Head of Procurement (Nigeria)
Responsibilities
1.Responsible for the leadership of the business Procurement and Logistics functions.
2.Oversee the procurement of goods and services from various sources that meet eligibility requirements to do business with Vodacom.
3.Ensure adherence to local procurement policy guidelines and all group policies and procedures.
4.Coordinate and review implementation of standard operating procedure, to guide the smooth running of the procurement function.
5.Lead all procurement related commercial negotiations, in line with Vodacom’s ‘’five pillars of procurement’’.
6.Implement KPIs for procurement personnel, to ensure efficiency; monitoring and addressing of non-conformances. Training and development of direct reports.
7.Perform contractors Assurance program, which include Vendor evaluations, due diligence survey, code of ethical purchasing training for vendors.
8.Maintain and review procurement risk register with mitigation plans and contingency planning.
9.Ensure good coordination with Finance, such that, the entire procurement to pay (P2P) process is seamlessly implemented.
10.Ensure maintenance of good relationship with vendors, contractors and other stakeholders that service Vodacom.
11.Develop and maintain sources of supply to assure that all departments have an adequate source of Vendors from which to procure/obtain equipment and services.
12.Ensure that overall procurement market research and reference price analysis is performed on a regular basis.
13.Budget planning and cost optimization. Monitor and track CAPEX spend and approvals (local and group) of the company, in line with established authority limit.
14.Coordinate Vodacom logistics efforts – 3rd party providers’ engagement, utilization, reward and performance evaluation.
15.Manage custom clearance of imported consignments.
Head of Warehousing and Logistics (Nigeria)
Responsibilities:
Coordinate Business Planning Inputs for Warehouse Management.
1.Contract management with warehousing agency and ensuring adherence to SLAs and KPIs – West Africa
2.Preparation and management of OPEX budget for the department, as well as CAPEX inventory forecast for the company.

Achievements:
1.Aligned the function’s structure and coordinated the design and implementation of processes and policies that delivered significant efficient improvement, cost saving and value driven changes within the Warehousing and Logistics function of the company.
2.360 degree management of decommissioned equipment – power down, survey, decommissioning, testing, re usage/scrapping. This reduced CAPEX spend by 15%.
3.Led a team of three that developed and implemented vendor-managed inventory for BWA equipment. This reduced the company’s inventory by 21%. Evaluated and implemented operations ‘lean Logistics’ on the company’s Warehousing needs, which resulted in reduction Countrywide of the company’s leased Warehousing space by 26,000 m3.
4.Designed and implemented the company’s migration to third party haulage providers from spot hired providers, which reduced the company’s haulage cost by 12% in 2012 over 2011.
5.Led the Implementation of GSM project (Governance system Management), which reduced warehouse losses by USD4 Million and inventory items with differences by 90% between 2011 and 2012. Currently less than USD15, 000 and less than 1% items difference.
2007 – 2010
NIGERIAN BOTTLING COMPANY PLC-A subsidiary of Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company-Authorized bottlers of coca cola products in Nigeria.
Regional Logistics Manager (East/Central and Lagos/West regions)
Responsibilities:
Co-ordination and management of the logistics operations in East/central region (2007 to 2008) and Lagos/west region, (2008 to 2010) of the company. Comprising 4 producing plants and 37 depots for East/Central region and 4 plants and 16 depots for Lagos/West region.
Warehousing and inventory management.
Product distribution through own and 3PL trucks to Mega Distribution centers, High volume Outlets, Key Accounts, Retails outlets and other consumers.
Product haulage and empties retrieval through own and 3PL haulage units to depots and other plants within and outside the region.
Fleet maintenance and management including contractors/suppliers evaluation, selection and supervision.
Material Management.
Management of 3PL haulage and distribution operations.
Review on regular basis, plants Logistics team performance system, to ensure team focus on continuous sustenance of superior results.
Develop processes to improve performance on an ongoing basis to achieve increase in productivity, reduce cost and increase revenue.
Achievements:
Achieved 99.8% product availability index in 2008 in East/Central region against 97.2% set KBI and prior year of 92.6%.
Designed and implemented governance system management (GSM) project in Ikeja plant in 2009, which reduced the plant Business losses from 168 million NGN in 2008 to 2.4 million NGN in 2009 and 2 million NGN in 2010. A model that was adopted company wide.
Successfully led the team that manages our toll filling manufacturers for 5 alive and Fanta products in 2009/2010.
Designed and implemented centralized distribution of one way packs (Can, juice, Pet and Water products) from Ikeja plant to all the Lagos four commercial territories. Saved 96million per annum in haulage/Distribution cost.
Designed, negotiate and implement the company wide haulage lease contracts agreement with the third party haulage contractors. This injected 450 brand new 30-40 tons trucks to the system and reduced haulage cost by 18%.
Deliberate build up of stock in the West region plants and depots in 2008 – 2010 lean period of June to October and planned massive products bridging of few SKUs to tap all sales potentials during the peak season resulting in the growth of the West region sales by a yearly average of 42% during the period

2004- 2007
Supply Chain Manager (Enugu and Port Harcourt Plants).
Achievements:
Reduce warehouse losses from 9million NGN to 250k NGN in Port Harcourt plant in 2006.
Led a team of eight that planned and implemented the companywide graduate distribution truck drivers scheme which changed the face of driving and art of products deliveries professionally to our partners.
Part of the team of 3 that developed, Negotiated and implemented companywide third party fuel vendor management scheme with major petroleum marketers.
Controlled inventory by developing and introducing reports and systems that minimized risk of expirations and shortages. Reports adopted as a value-add management practice across Nigeria.
Led the development and planning for creation of 21,000 square meters third party warehouses with MDS logistics and other third parties warehouse providers.
Designed and implemented night haulage of products between Enugu plant and her 15 depots which increased sales volume by 21% in 2006.
Designed and implemented night haulage and distribution trucks repairs and maintenance by Leventis Motors which improve our truck availability and reliability by 8% and 12% respectively.

Responsible for the management and guidance of the transportation, haulage, distribution, warehousing, Cold drink and Inventory control units of the respective plants of Enugu and Port Harcourt and their depots.
Responsible for both inbound and outbound Logistics as well as managing all interfaces in between.

Warehouse Manager (Ilorin and Onitsha Plants)
Achievements:
Reduced warehouse losses by 56%. Plan, design and implement a new plant and warehouse layouts for Onitsha plant.
Eliminate the use of railway for product haulage to Minna, Bida and Kotangora depots from Ilorin plant. Achieved 98% increase in the turnaround time of the haulage and distribution of trucks. Improve trucks availability and reliability by 25% each through tracking and engagement of the fleet team.
Carried out depots rationalization. Saved 7 million NGN in overhead cost.
Drove initiatives to achieve HACCP accreditation by developing and completing plan, GWPs, SOPs and training materials.

Overall responsibilities for warehousing including monitoring stock levels, dispatches and deliveries, goods in transit, stock reconciliations etc.

Directed the ongoing and effective management of suppliers, which reduced manufacturing line shutdowns by 25%
