CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is a not-for-profit, a non-stock health service company. It is the largest health care insurer in the Mid-Atlantic region, serving 3.4 million members. It has the largest provider network in the region, with more than 80 percent of the region's health care providers participating in one or more networks and it has launched the nation's largest Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) program of its kind.

As part of this Project, there are 40+ different systems/ applications integrated to serve for various health insurance needs of members/ employer groups. Project is driven by ITIL framework where different SLAs will be applicable at each SDLC phases.

Key areas that we involved in testing are - Facets, Nasco, EDI.

Description:

EyeMed offers vision plan options to help its clients provide the vision care benefits to their employees' needs. A combination of copayments, allowances and discounts to create a flexible plan that complements medical and ancillary coverage. The goal of the project is current EyeMed system is being operated in AS400 system which need to be migrated to Facets system. Right from the member enrollment process to Claims processing the transactions facility has to be migrated to Facets (Trizetto) along implementing additional supporting applications for Eyemed. In this regarding, existing functionalities and Data is going to be migrated from Legacy system to Facets.

The project execution will be operating in 10 modules in different phases with different testing types, which helped a lot to gain very good Facets knowledge

Roles and Responsibilities:

POC for Data conversion testing by analyzing the mapping documents for AS400 tables & Facets Database tables.

Prepare Data conversion Test scenarios to ensure complete coverage.

Executing data migration test cases on the source and target databases.

Sykes Health Plan Services (SHPS) a joint venture of Sykes Enterprises and Health Care Services is an integrated health management provider. SHPS provide with a single comprehensive source of health management decision and guidance to its corporations and consumers.

Spending Account Management system (SAM-Health Insurance Domain) helps to reduce the cost of health care and stretch the income dollars. SAM scheme provides FSA and HRA plans, which helps members from federal, state, and payroll tax exemption.

The primary goal of SAM project is to achieve a high rate of auto-adjudication of claims. This requires automation of business processes and decisions that are currently being done with legacy computer systems initiated manually by human operators. This product administrates various health plans. It includes technical implementation, processing claims (receiving, validating, substantiating), payments (Checks & EFT), statements generation (e-Statements & mails), Card issuing through interacting with bank & customers, also interacts with carrier's and Merchants. SAM is equipped with all the latest features of Auto-adjudication rules, Claims Processing and Reports generation. Claims processing is the main user interface component of SAM system. Apart from the above components, it has equipped by SAM web portal; which is now becoming the customized component for the clients of SHPS.

Description:

Order Management System (OMS) / Order Entry System is an online application to order materials, check inventory levels or check the status of an order. OMS is for marketing sales materials such as templates, brochures and booklets related to Medical and Dental in different formats (pdf/tiff etc.). OMS provides the user to create a product and order for an existing product. The availability is based on the Access rights of the user who logged in. Orders can be placed for bulk items and structures. The estimated unit cost and the estimated extended cost of material will be available in the system. The system further facilitates to check inventory levels or track the status of an order. In addition, it provides different options like Kit, Application and Association for ordering materials in easy way. OMS web application is associated with the few Desktop and Batch/Console applications. This a maintenance project and testing is executed on release basis.
