CN RAIL for 14 years from 2006 to 2020
2017 to 2020:
Senior Executive Assistant, Rail Traffic Control Centre
Monitored 150+ unionized and management employees for the Superintendent. Processed procurement card invoices and reconciled transactions on CN corporate credit card with a limit of $100,000. Entered voucher payments in SAP and managed accounts payable and receivables for Western Canada. Served as department head for supply management and material requests through SRM and ARIBA within corporate guidelines. Audited our budget and was the sole Administrator for maintaining the VIA Rail Commercial CN travel account.
Reduced departments supply budget by 39% and simplified the cost tracking method.
Streamlined the process for all unionized crew accessing travel on VIA Rail; permanently removing this daily responsibility from all 75 Rail Traffic Controllers.
2015 to 2017:
Officer Employee Benefits Coordinator & Attendance Management
Managed employee absences from illness, STD, LTD, on-duty and off duty injuries for all Western Canadian employees. Worked collaboratively with Human Resources, Labour Relations, Occupational Health and Safety, Employee Family Assistance Program, Worker’s Compensation and Senior Management with confidentiality to sensitive information.
Partnered in establishing, developing, implementing and launching of the new CN Attendance Management Department from the ground up.
Provided employees information about the disability claim process, the required documentation that were necessary to apply. Followed up with employees to obtain their current status, progress, length of eligibility and their return to work plans.
Reduced book-off occurrences by 29% the first year and 37% the following year.
2012 to 2015:
Employee Onboarding and Engagement Coordinator for Western Canada
Assisted employees through their 24-month engagement and onboarding process. Exported data from SAP, Employee Dashboard, Training Management and Employee Training from internal CN systems. Produced numerous reports into excel spreadsheets, including pivot tables, graphs and charts.
Independently produced new Onboarding Training Guides and Employee Relocation Packages which explained and eased the relocation process for our new employees.
Scheduled onboarding reminders for management to connect with their unionized employees, this fostered contact with management and new unionized employees.

2010 to 2012:
Office Administrator, CN Operations Centre
Oversaw 39 full-time employees on behalf of Assistant Vice-President, who I worked directly for in the CN Network Operations Centre. I managed all office issues, meetings, appointments, deadlines, travel arrangements, including completing expense reports. Ensured all CN training and safety courses were completed on time by each staff member. I also trained and coached current and new employees on numerous types of CN software.
Centralized and overhauled out-of-date job-aid resources for each position. This provided current staff and future new hires with accurate and updated information.
Cultivated a positive, respectful and supportive work environment by facilitating and promoting inter-departmental interactions on a more frequent basis.
2006 to 2010:
Senior Human Resources and Labour Relations Assistant & EFAP Manager
Provided day-to-day administrative management to the Senior Director of Human Resources and Labour Relations for 100 employees throughout Canada and United States.
Self-taught how to produce and streamline our department’s preliminary, forecasted and final budgets; which removed this obligation from Senior Director.
Operated the Employee Family Assistance Program when Manager absent.
