3. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

a) Over view

I am a social worker in practice and a holder of bachelor’s degree in social work and Social administration (Hons) from Uganda Christian University Mukono. I have over 6 years working experience in different organizations both private and public. Currently I am working on a short term contract basis as a data entrant at the Higher Education student’s financing Board (HESFB) for 4 years and my role involves data collection, analysis and reporting. This has given me expertise in data handling and management; I have got hands on training in data management. Previously before taking on this role I worked with Fresh Cuts as an assistant operations manager. My role here was to provide administrative support through managing the drivers and monitoring of the vehicles to perform day to day activities, I was in charge of the daily operation of the whole plant ensuring that essential requirements are in place, capture all vehicle details and monitor them using the tracking software as per the daily deliveries to different clients. Ensure that monthly reports are generated and presented to the head of the operations till the end of my contract.

I am proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft word, Excel, Power point, internet and E-mail; online data management systems like HESFBs integrated Loan Management System (ILMIS) and willing to learn and expand on my integrity.

I am hard working self-driven with a high sense of responsibility, able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision, good team player and with a high sense of integrity

The Higher Education Students’ Financing Board is established by an Act of Parliament No. 2 of 2014, as a body corporate mandated to provide Loans and Scholarships to eligible citizens of Uganda to enable them access Higher Education at affordable rates and increase equitable access to Higher Education in the Country.

Duties and Responsibilities as a data entrant

Update all student’s record and data into the Integrated Loan Management System ILMIS.

Work with ICT department to Keep the records of students intake for 2014/15 in a manner that it will easily be uploaded on the integrated Loan Management Information System

Capture all students’ data with regard to credit referencing bureau system and take record of Student’s National Identification Numbers.

Verification of student’s data and subsequent loan application to ensure that they comply with all the requirements as per Credit Reference Bureau.

Keep track and update record of the loan protection fund.

Provide regular reports for risk and compliance to observe the credit risk policies.

Maintain a proper filing system for HESFB records on loan portfolio

Keeping records of tasks, files and reports.

Maintain logs of activities and completed work.

Scan documents into document management systems

Assist the Credit Administrator in verifying all pre and post draw data entry for authenticity and data integrity

Assist the Credit Administrator to conduct the regular system checks to ensure correctness of the portfolio

Assist the credit administrator with reviews of the correctness of the entire loan book

Oversees the compliance of the loanees with regard to contributions to the Loan protection fund

Assist the Credit administrator to perform all credit referencing data entries

Perform all follow ups with non-complying students with regard to disbursement.

Assist the credit Administrator in capturing students’ progress report
