Collaborates with the physician owners during the acquisition of the surgery center and provided due diligence for the center, including; Company organization and good standing information, Financials, Physical Assets, Real Estate Valuation, Intellectual Property, Licenses and Permits, Taxes, Material Contracts, Customer Information, and Insurance Coverage, among other things

Responsible for providing leadership, staff development, budgeting, and management of key services in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern center facilities.

Plans, organizes, develops, implements, and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation.

Creates and oversees goals related to company income and expenditure, increase income and patient volume on an annual budget of $4M.

Manages daily operations and a staff of 20 for this 4 OR, multi-specialty center to include orthopedics, plastic surgery, general surgery and podiatry that performs 3,000 procedures annually

Works with revenue cycle team to manage billing, collections and financials

Manages, direct and make necessary adjustments for streamlining center operations.

Works with materials manager, participating in quarterly inventory and supply cost reduction, evaluation of current vendors and options to change to decrease costs. This project resulted in a first quarter savings of $18K

Reduced agency personnel costs from $20K to under $5K over a period of two months

Provides detailed monthly reports explaining operating expenses in detail, positive and negative variances

Actively recruits physician targets for utilization of center and/or ownership opportunities

Leads monthly infection control, QAPI, departmental meetings and reports findings to Governing Board and Center staff.

Implemented QI recommended and Governing Board approved changes to effect better patient care, proper utilization of resources revision policies and procedures based on best practices. (Resources: APIC, CASC, AAORN, AMA.)

Organized QAPI committee to include representatives from pharmacy, materials management, pre op, peri-Op, PACU, sterile processing and business office

Performs additional clinical responsibilities, as needed, such as; Preparing the operating room according to the procedure to be performed and patient needs, Assembling and providing properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments before the start of the procedure; positions and adjusts equipment as required during the procedure, and Anticipating the needs of the surgical team; assists anesthesia staff by supporting the patient during administration of anesthesia.

Responsible for directing, coordinating and controlling all aspects of daily operations, processes and staff for this 4 OR, multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center setting with average annual volume 3,000- 4,000 cases and a staff of 35 individuals.

Service lines provided: Urology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pain Management and Podiatry

Reduced agency personnel costs from $90K to under $10K over a period of four months.

Successfully increased case-volume from 200 cases a month to 750 cases per month

Manages materials manager in supply cost initiative resulting in $10K decrease in spend.

Works with central accounting in preparation of monthly financial reports to including; Net Income, Operating Expenses and EBITDA.

Provides detailed monthly reports to physician owners and Governing Board to explain operating expenses in detail and positive and negative variances.

Communicates monthly and quarterly goals to all employees and adjunct staff and Ensures timely monthly distributions for physicians while maintaining a one-month operating reserve.

Served as liaison between Governing Board, Medical Executive Committee, Medical Director and all departments of the facility
