My name is Amye Taylor. I'm currently seeking employment back in the Medical Field as I'm also trying to finish my Nursing Degree. I'm trained as a "Tech" which most of my experience is based from working in the Hospitals/ Clinical setting. I have about 8 years of experience working in ICU/PCU CCU ER ED Shock Trauma Units. I tend to work best in fast paced environments and have always been a team player. I believe it's important to work well together especially when it comes to Nursing. Authorized to work in the US for any employer
Work Experience
Patient Care Tech
IU Health Hospitals - Indianapolis, IN
January 2023 to March 2023
I was hired to work Oncology at the Simon Cancer Center for IU Health however my youngest son got ill so unfortunately I had to resign from this position hence why I'm currently trying to get back into the medical field again. My responsibilities would have been the same however I do remember most of my pt's needing glucose checks which is simple to do. PCT (Patient Care Technician)
Community East Hospital - Indianapolis, IN
November 2019 to January 2022
I worked in Trauma and ICU/PCU at Community East Hospital. I worked under the supervision of an RN as well as with other Techs. The ED is setup differently when it comes to what Tech's are allowed to do vs when on an actual Unit. So my experience from working the ED is much different than from when I was on ICU/PCU. My job consisted of taking and charting pt vital signs, performing certain lab tests such as blood draws, U/A, Pregnancy Tests, COVID ect. I always remained in direct contact with the RN as well as my pt's. Sometimes I'd be responsible for placing splints on broken bones and sprained/strained body parts. I also performed CPR/chest compressions numerous times. Nanny
Carmel, IN
January 2011 to January 2018
I worked as a Nanny for a Family friend off and on while trying to attend school for Nursing. Patient Care Tech
Community Hospital East - Indianapolis, IN
June 2006 to August 2010
This was my very first experience working in the medical field and I have not one negative thing to say about it. I was hired on to work the ICU/PCU which I absolutely loved and enjoyed bc of my fellow employees. I learned so much which is why it made for a positive experience. My responsibilities consisted of taking/charting vitals, bathing and assisting pt with ADL's, assistance with feeding pt's, changing linens, stocking/ organization of rooms/ units, lab blood draws, insertion and d/c of Foley catheters, simple drsng changes, and more.
